Job Mining Application
What is the purpose of
downloading lakhs of job-advts and then processing these (i.e. "mining"
these) to create a structured JOB-ADVT DATABASE?
I can immediately think of
following applications (although, more could emerge in future):
A For Jobseekers
- Traditional job-search similar to what we
find on nearly all jobsites (incl. on 3pjobs).
In this case, we are on same
ground/territory as all other jobsites and we may have to follow their "rules
of the game" VIZ:
- Jobsearch will be "free" for candidates.
- We may insist on some "Registration"
- "Apply Online" facility may have
to be provided. In fact, if we wish them (The candidates) to deposit
their resumes on WWJ
(https://www.google.com/search?q=World-Wide-Jobs.com), then providing
"Apply Online" feature is must.
JMA/2
- Traditional Job Alerts as emails
Even this may be inevitable if we
wish to compete with jobsites. In that case, even this service will need to be
"free"!
- Job Alerts as SMS on Mobiles
No jobsite is doing this so far,
and we can score over them here, if we are able to introduce this feature fast
enough. For this, we will need to tie-up with Mobile phone service providers
and reach a "Revenue-sharing" arrangement. All
service-providers are badly searching for "killer content" and
job-alerts could be such content. This application has potential for
Service-providers to vastly expand their subscriber-base. I have prepared a
detailed FOLDER on this application. Here, we have a lot of revenue-generation
potential.
- Pin-point MATCH-MAKING
Here the application is envisaged
as follows:
The moment a Candidate
submits his plain/email resume ONLINE on WWJ AND
edits/validates/completes, on-the-spot (especially the CAREER HISTORY
section), then, right in front of his eyes a JOB-ADVT FUNCTION
JMA/3
PROFILE GRAPH emerges.
By moving cursor &
clicking on any Match-Index No., candidate will get to see all those job-advts
which "match" with his resume (say) 90% or above.
This will dramatically cut-down
the time & effort that a candidate needs to zero-in on those job-advts
only which match his own experience/knowledge/skill/background!
And since job-advt. database
will consist of jobs downloaded from 6 major Indian jobsites, the database
would, more or less, cover all jobs available in India! So, for Candidate, this
makes a ONE-STOP SHOPPING & what is equally important a RAPID-FIRE/PIN-POINT
SHOPPING!
Technically it is also possible
to deliver this graph as MMS on mobile-phone (of course, for a fee!).
JMA/4
Once again, I consider, PIN-POINT
MATCH MAKING as a tremendous Revenue Generating feature.
Of course, It would be possible
for the candidate to click on any one/more job advts appearing in the SHORTLIST
DISPLAY TABLE
And be able to click to "APPLY
ONLINE" In this case, we will charge Rs. 5/= for every "Apply
Online" click, since the amount of TIME/EFFORT/MONEY that a
candidate will save him such PIN-POINT MATCHING would be
enormous/phenomenal!
In fact, if this picks-up as
envisages, No candidate would ever want to
- Conduct "traditional" job-searches
on 6 major job-sites, again & again (at least 1 hour/day), and
everyday.
- receive "job-alerts" as emails
over his PC
PROJECT JAWS
Project JAWS is also meant
for job-seekers. Only, in this case, the media of delivery (delivery-channel)
will be
NEWSPAPERS & MAGAZINES
(print-media).
JMA/5
In order to increase their Subscriber-base
(readers), print-media is also desperately looking for "killer
content" - especially small town/vernacular newspapers.
By Subscribing to WWJ,
they will be able to "configure" (customize) the exact
types of job-advt. SUMMARY they wish to print & show to their
readers. They will also decide the "frequency-of-delivery".
We may -or may not- make this a PAID/CHARGEABLE
service/content. Initially, we may keep it "free" to get
publicity/mileage for WWJ.
Under Project JAWS,
- Ultimate job-advertisers would get a
fantastic "reach" for their jobs, which can now be seen
by professionals/jobseekers in small towns.
- would provide a "level-playing"
field for small town executives, who have, otherwise, no "access"
to dozens of newspapers/jobsites.
In course of time, JAWS
can be extended to other "Delivery-Channels" such as,
- Cyber-cafes
- TV channels
- Radio
- ISPs
- etc. etc.
JMA/6
B For CORPORATES
- Job Market Analysis - Graphs
Industry wise/Function
wise/Desig. level wise/Edu. wise/City wise/Country wise, DEMAND-PROFILES
can be constructed & delivered (as configured/customised) - for a fee, to subscribers.
Of course, such Graphs can also be made available to Print/TV
media/HR Consultants or even Jobseekers.
- Guru Ad - Composing of Job-Advts
A massive database of job-advts
(especially, job-descriptions/Man-Specs/Keywords/Skills/Edu.
Institutions/Edu. Quali. etc.) is absolutely essential for launch of GuruAd.
When a Subscriber-Company
(of Recruit-guru) composes, a job-advt. using GuruAd, once
again a FUNCTION-PROFILE graph will tell/show the Subscriber
where exactly, his newly-composed job-advt. stand in relation to ALL
same function job-advts. in the database of WWJ.
JMA/7
when, with each revised "draft"
of job-advt, (with suggested/recommended keywords keyphrases key sentences)
the RAW-SCORE/PERCENTILE-SCORE will change, and 63 may shift to 73
or 83.
OR
If, as drafted/composed, the
newly composed job-advt shows a percentile of say, 97 on the profile-graph,
then the recruitment manager may conclude that his draft is so "TIGHT/RARE/SPECIFIC",
that, with such a job-advt, very few jobseekers may consider themselves QUALIFIED/COMPETENT
enough to apply & the response would be very poor!
He may, then, feel like revising
(Watering down) the draft advt. by deleting some keywords, so
that percentile score comes down to 64 (say).
JMA/8
C For 3P
Apart from the foregoing
applications (which we can launch using job-advt. database), 3P can use
such a database for many purposes, as explained in my enclosed chart dt.
