Establishing Credibility
(How to make jobseekers to
register on WWJ.com)
Hopefully, one day soon, a
counter on WWJ's homepage will read,
No. of Job-Adverts
on this Website
[Box containing the number
2,456,398]
May look impressive—but doubtful
as well!
Since we do not intend to permit
jobseekers to conduct a "JOB-SEARCH" on WWJ, we may not "succeed
in removing their "doubt/suspicion" altogether (i.e. 100%)
But, there is a way to
"reduce" this doubt—and increase credibility of our claim.
This can be done by providing a
webpage called
"LIST OF JOBS".
On this page, will be following
links:
No. of job-adverts on this
site:
Industry-Wise
Function-Wise ($\checkmark$)
Designation-Level wise
\left\}\begin{array}{l}\text{we
had such} \\ \text{links on} \\ \text{3pjobs.com}\end{array}\right.
Actual Designation-wise (?)
(May be for "Entry-level
Jobs Only)
Country-wise ($\checkmark$)
(& within each country,
CITY-WISE?)
Source-Wise
- Corporate Job Websites
- Jobsites
\left\}\begin{array}{l}\text{I am
not sure} \\ \text{whether we should} \\ \text{show these
too!}\end{array}\right.
Company Name-Wise (?)
Time-Wise (?)
Last 7 days
15 "
30 "
60 "
Clicking on each of these links,
will produce a list/statement, where the break-up of the TOTAL NO. OF JOBS,
will be shown.
But the interactivity
(clickability) will stop here. No further drilling-down. Since, no
"job-search"/no "short-listing"/no "apply online",
from WWJ.com.
This (observation) is Important
-
Because,
Jobsearch / Shortlisting / Apply
Online (Call three activities), go hand-in-hand!
Permitting only "Job
Search", without a facility to
Short list select Apply Online
is meaningless! In fact,
it would be outright "Frustrating"!!
So, if we permit "Job-Search"
on WWJ.com, then the candidates will legitimately "expect" to
be able to "Apply Online" as well.
That would be very dangerous!
In that case, the jobseekers will
never register for JAM
never agree to pay to Mobile
Service Providers
At least, a large majority of
them.
By directly "Applying
Online" from WWJ, they would "bypass" the mobile
service provider!
So, WWJ.com, instead of merely
remaining a "CONTENT-PROVIDER" to the mobile-phone companies,
now becomes a direct "COMPETITOR" of phone cos. !
So, we start Competing with
our own "Delivery channel / Distribution channel"!
This is unthinkable!
Then no mobile-service-provider
will tie-up with us.
Can we think of a
"Manufacturer" directly selling its product to ultimate end-users
(Customers) and also trying to sell it thru
Distributors Dealers Stockists?
If that happens, no
distributor/dealer/
stockist will ever put-in any
serious effort to "promote/sell" that product.
Therefore, it is VERY
IMPORTANT that in whatever we do, we keep the interest (i.e.
revenue-earning potential) of
MOBILE SERVICE PROVIDERS
uppermost in our minds.
We must NEVER do anything
that will "Undercut" them / "Bypass" them.
We must continuously find new
methods/ways by which our DELIVERY CHANNEL PARTNERS, make MORE
money!
And then insist on our "Share"!
But,
by showing the
"break-up" of job-adverts in so many different ways, we are actually
tempting the job-seekers to "register" for JAM.
Each jobseeker would have his own
UNIQUE job-requirement.
Someone is looking for a job in a
particular CITY/COUNTRY
Whereas, someone else, is looking
for a job in a specific (given) Industry/
or Function or Designation-Level or even a job in a specific COMPANY.
Unless, he is convinced that WWJ
has plenty of jobs of the kind that he is interested in, he is unlikely to
register.
No consumer/customer ever walks
into a "Saree" shop, when he is looking for PANTS/SHIRTS
for MEN!!
That is why we have mannequins
(statues) in shop-windows, so that you, as a customer, get a clear idea of what
you can expect to find, if you were to enter that shop.
Those little WINDOW-DISPLAYS,
serve 2 purposes:
Like a "movie-trailer"
tell you what to expect when you get in
avoid disappointment/frustration
for you to walk-in and then discover that the shop does not stock/sell, what
you want to buy.
Hence, our JOB-LISTS (with actual
$\text{No}^\text{s}$ of job-adverts against each category) are our
WINDOW-DISPLAYS.
These WINDOW-DISPLAYS, are
of greatest interest/utility to Fresh Graduates/College Students who are
looking for ENTRY-LEVEL JOBS.
As I mentioned in my yesterday's
note, these millions are desperate for jobs/any job.
So, we must modify their JOB-PREFERENCE
Form, as follows:
|
ENTRY LEVEL JOBS / JUNIOR
LEVEL JOBS |
|
These jobs, usually call for
"NIL" or very little experience are meant for "Fresh
Graduates" / College Students. |
|
So, if you are a Fresh
Graduate/College Student, tick $\checkmark$ the check-boxes against
"Vacancies/Positions", for which you would like to receive
job-alerts on your mobile-phone. Please fill-in following details. |
|
My details are |
|
User ID [Box] |
|
Password [Box] |
|
PEN [Box] |
|
Mobile NO [Box] |
|
Undertaking: |
Please send me job-alerts for
following positions/vacancies
|
Position |
No. of Adverts |
Select ✓ |
|
Apprentice |
4396 |
|
|
Accounts Assistant |
(2365) |
|
|
Admin Assistant |
1963 |
|
|
Attendant |
463 |
So, what are we trying to achieve
by adding a Column "No. of Adverts"?
Convincing the Fresh
Graduate/College Student that we do, indeed, have plenty of job-adverts of the
type he is interested in, for which we can send him job-alerts.
If a Fresh Graduate notices
|
Position/Vacancy |
No. of Adverts |
Select ✓ |
|
Accounts Assistant |
3 |
is he, likely to register for
JAM, if that is the only position for which either he is qualified or he is
interested?
Obviously not.
But, on the other hand, if he
sees the figure of (2365), he is tempted to tick $\checkmark$, believing
that, with so many job-openings, his chance of landing some job somewhere, are,
indeed bright!
Larger the "no. of
Advert" the higher the "hope"!
you will recall, what I have said
earlier, VIZ:
JAM - Selling Hopes!
Convincing Fresh Graduate (and
even College-Students, who may not "qualify" for some of these jobs)
to select/tick $\checkmark$ dozens of Vacancies/positions,
thereby, once again increasing the "probability" of landing
some job/somewhere.
You may ask,
If a million Fresh graduates,
each ticks 20 positions/vacancies, which between them, have 23496 job-adverts
listed, then, what would it do to my servers/softwares/communications?
Would not everything come crashing
down?
20
\frac{\text{positions}}{\text{selected}} \times 10
\frac{\text{alerts}}{\text{position}/\text{day}} \times 1 \text{ million
jobseekers} = 200 \text{ million job-alerts}/\text{day} !
Whereas, these logistics may look
"frightening", if this scenario really takes place, then the
"brighter" side could well be
200 \text{ million "Apply
Online" clicks}/\text{day} !!
As Kartaaya used to say, that
would be a "WELCOME-TYPE" of problem—nice to have!
