REVATHI -HEAD HUNTER

Concept Note for Widget “Headhunter”
![icon: Head Hunter logo]

  • Whereas widget “My Jobs” is meant for jobseekers, widget “Headhunter” will be for Recruiters (i.e., employers + agencies).

  • At fundamental level, Headhunter will be opposite of My Jobs, but work quite similarly.

  • My Jobs brings “Job Alerts” to jobseekers whereas Headhunter will bring Resume Alerts to recruiters.

  • To be able to use this widget, a recruiter will need to register on our website at “Employer Registration” and obtain his password.

  • To use Headhunter widget, recruiter would need to enter his mobile no. / password in Log-In screen of widget.

  • One important point: In “Terms and Conditions”...

Page 2 (2/8)

  • At the bottom of “Employer Registration”, we must add one more, viz:

“I agree to receive any type of promotional/marketing communication, by way of SMS/email/banner adverts etc., on my email ID and/or my mobile phone etc. from this website or from any associate/user/partner of this website.”

  • This condition must also be (quickly) added in the “Terms and Conditions” below the “Submit Brief Resume” form.

There will be a webpage called
“My Resume Alert Preferences”

  • After login, a registered employer would need to fill up a form on this page, which will ask for his resume-alert preferences, in terms of:

    • Industry

    • Functional Background

    • Designation Level

    • Edu. Level

    • Age (max)

    • Exp (min)

    • Candidate’s current city location
      (of course, country too)

We should consider whether we can use for this (Resume Alert) purpose, our existing “Resume Search” page, itself—

and title it:
“Resume Search / Resume Alert Preference”

and, at the bottom of the form, add:

☑ I would like to receive on my mobile/tablet, resume-alerts of candidates matching above-mentioned criteria.

Then add two buttons at the bottom (NOT mutually exclusive) as follows:

[ Show matching Resumes NOW ]
[ Send matching Resume Alerts on my mobile/tablet ]

Of course, we need to enable a recruiter to create multiple “Resume Alert Profiles”.

And, then show him in following tabulation, what profiles / how many profiles, he has created and when:

Page 4/8

Dear [__________],

Here is a list of “Resume Alert Profiles” created by you.

Profile NoDate CreatedTypeIndFunctionEditDelete
IT / Non-IT[ ][ ]

Of course, he can see this table, only if he is logged-in.

🔷 As in case of “My Jobs” widget, software will “match” all resumes every morning, with each “created” profile, and prepare a

• “Resume Alert Summary” Tabulation page
• “Resume Alert Detail” page

“Resume Alert Detail” page will show

  • Candidate Name: Ajay Mhatre

  • Current Designation: Manager - Sales

  • Current Employer: Voltas

“Resume Alert Summary” page will show:

Open "scheduler/calendar"

Page 6/8

▻ Upon {touching/pressing} one of the buttons, appropriate message will be delivered to the concerned candidate/s, on his/their
Mobile Phones

▻ These messages will be accompanied by some ADVTs provided by InMobi.com

▻ This will give us a 60% share of ADVT prices, charged by InMobi to their client advertisers.

▻ In InMobi parlance, our website will become a PUBLISHER

▻ As far as Registered Employer/Recruiters are concerned, they will need to put up with such PUSHED ADVTs, in return for a FREE service, provided by our site.
It is for this reason, that we will modify TERMS & CONDITIONS, as mentioned earlier.

▻ We assume that, employers/recruiters will like our service, because:

  • it is free

  • does not require searching of resumes on job-portals

  • does not require PC / broadband

  • can be used at anytime, on-the-go

  • enables sending "contact communication" to candidates by simply touching a button

    • No opening of Outlook / typing of message / providing whom to contact & how to contact info — automatically

  • If Android-based tablets (e.g., Akash) are used, enables video-interviewing on tablet using Skype
(This will require asking for Skype ID of recruiters, in “Employer Registration Form”)

  • Out of India’s 26 million small/medium businesses, not even 100,000 are currently using Naukri / Monster / TimesJobs to advertise their job vacancies.
This is because of hefty quarterly/annual “Subscription Fees” running into a few thousand rupees (for a quarter) to a couple of lakh rupees (for annual).

Page 8/8

Offering “Instant availability” of perfectly matching resumes (as per their Resume Alert Preferences/Profiles) — and that too on-the-go and free, will encourage many millions of these SMEs to sign up on our site.

For InMobi, this will be a very attractive platform to deliver sharply targeted Mobile Advts.

▶ As soon as:

  • My Jobs widget gets pre-installed on Akash Tablets

  • Traffic on our site builds up,

We will develop “Headhunter” widget.

▶ We will also store “Resume Alert Preference” history (for all profiles created by a given advertiser/employer), and arrange each “search criteria” in descending order of the frequency of selecting.
This will help us refine our Match-making Algorithm

GEETHA MANJUJUNATH FRIEND MAKER

Revathi (SiteOnMobile)

Concept Note for Widget
“Friend Maker”

All of us keep receiving “requests” from perfect strangers (most of the time), to “accept” them as “friends” or wanting to be “linked.”

Such requests come mostly from members of Facebook or LinkedIn.

Senders of such requests need to go online, using PC/broadband, to send out the requests.

Recipients also need to be online, to receive — and accept — requests through email.

But in India, only 100 million people access internet — and that too, once a week.

If you use criteria of “every alternate day,” then that number drops to 50 million!

As against this, 900 million people have mobile phones — of which, close to 50 million have smart phones.

In 2 years time, 100 million will have smart phones — or tablets.

And, unlike a PC/broadband, these smart phones are always ON and always AVAILABLE!

So, how about developing a widget which will:

  • ✅ Enable “sending out” requests

  • ✅ Enable “accepting” requests
    — directly from a smartphone/tablet?

Should be possible.

Question:
In current scenario, both “senders” & the “recipients” are registered MEMBERS of Facebook / LinkedIn.

“Who” will Widget-users, send such requests to?
Answer

They will themselves need to be registered jobseekers of

and,
they can only send such requests to other registered jobseekers of CustomizeResume.

So, CustomizeResume website becomes the platform for
“Friend Maker” widget.

Obviously, both the “Requests” as well as the “Acceptances” will pass through our website, which will (like Facebook / LinkedIn) create necessary pages.

Now the (interesting) twist, which, I hope, will make our widget much more popular than Facebook / LinkedIn:

For the 47 lakh candidates on our site, we already know,

  • ✅ Gender (Male / Female)

  • ✅ City (Location)

  • ✅ Age (Birth Date)

So, the moment a widget-user logs in (using his email ID / password), we know about him, these 3 things.

So, the widget will show/display names / brief details of 5 members, who:

  • ✅ Belong to the SAME city

  • ✅ Belong to opposite sex

  • ✅ Are about the SAME age

Widget UI Mockup (as drawn):

Recruiter
Here are 5 members, to whom you may wish to send “Be My Friend” request. They belong to your city.

☑️ Archana Mehta (F) / 21 Jan 88
☑️ Minal Deshpande (F) / 10 Mar 83
⬜ [3 more entries below, empty]

As usual, if the widget user wants to see 5 more names, he will need to click/touch a product advt (No free lunch!)

Obviously, a widget-user, can send a “Be My Friend” request to another member ONLY ONCE.

We do NOT want any particular member to be "stalked / harassed" through repeated requests, from the same person.

So, if the option (to ☑ and SEND) is not exercised for any displayed name, it is gone forever!

This means, keeping track (a log?) of “Names Displayed So Far”, for each & every widget user, to ensure there is no repetition, while delivering 5 fresh/new names.

And of course, every time a widget-user logs in, 5 New names will be displayed.

Now,
Selecting “Names” belonging to:

  • Same City

  • Opposite Sex

is not difficult
But,
What about “approx Same Age”?

Let us use following logic:

  • Take widget user’s birth date (i.e., age = 25)

  • Go back 5 years (i.e., age = 20)

  • Start delivering “Names” of members, who are 20 years old

  • Continue upward (till “ascending age” list gets exhausted).

When widget-user clicks on (touches) SEND REQUEST button,
the following email (or SMS?) to be delivered:

Dear Member:

Ashwin Panchal invites you to be a friend.
You can see his/her full profile by logging in www.CustomizeResume.com, and entering PEN ______ on “Be My Friend” page,
where you can ACCEPT or REJECT.

We assure you that you will NOT receive a repeat request from this person, anytime in future.

We take no responsibility for genuineness / accuracy of sender’s profile or for his future relationship with you.
— RecruitGuru

Now, “accepting” (or rather, being able to “accept”) an invitation through email, is only a halfway house!

It puts us in the same “class” as Facebook / LinkedIn!!

NO GOOD!

Alternative?

If the “Recipient” is also a widget-user, then the “Invitation” should be delivered onto the screen of his/her widget, with provisions to:

  • View sender’s brief profile

  • ACCEPT / REJECT buttons

These preliminary thoughts can be debated & improved upon, if the concept itself looks promising.

MATCH INDEX ALGORITHM,

MATCH INDEX ALGORITHM

MATCH-MAKER

Note

This could have some relevance to MATCH MAKER (which tool we have planned to develop).

Someday, thousands of jobseekers would have downloaded “Match Maker” and hundreds of these jobseekers may be “online” at the same time (on different job portals), searching & “matching” the job-adverts against their own resumes. We would have captured the “resumes” when they try to “Activate” this tool. We may also “capture” the job-adverts being searched/matched by each jobseeker (using Match Maker tool) while he is “online,” so each user becomes our human job-advert “SPIDER”! Then, I can “SERVE” matching job-adverts to each user, as soon as he comes online :)

Match-Index Algorithm

Let us index each of 655L resumes and create such a matrix (one for each resume).

Let us also create such matrices for each Designation keyword (1000-SS1) / IT Skill keyword (88) / non-IT function (559?) etc.

What are characteristics/attributes of a Word "C" (in any of these matrices)?

  • No. of characters in that word (which cell?)
  • Starting alphabet of that word
  • Ending " " " " → Last but one " " " " → Probability → Frequency of occurrence in 10000 resumes

Let us assume there are 26 x 20 = 520 cells for each resume.

And, 26 x 20 = 520 cells in Master keyword Matrix for any given desig (IT-skill / Non-IT function).

Now superimpose Master keyword Matrix on Resume Keyword Matrix.

Retain only those cells in which a value is present in both. Reject all cells with NULL value in both.

Now check for ending alpha/character in both.

Resume Blaster -How To Wow

How to WOW!
  • Long press on a Comp. Name

    • show relevant Google Map

    • No. of resumes delivered to that Co. so far (Popularity Index)

  • The moment one of my friends (from CONTACTS) logs in, a message flashes on the screen:
    Ramesh Kanek is online

  • Even if a person (Contact) has logged in, but NOT...

blasted, a single resume, his name should still appear on Screen #6, showing a figure?
NIL against his name.

ADMIN Page:

  1. No. of Resumes blasted / Ads clicked (Similar to existing page)

  2. No. of “Contacts” uploaded
    (Daily / Monthly)

Thought:

  • For each candidate, can we maintain a database of
    “Companies to which already Applied”?

Advantage:

  • In Screen #A, these are shown in RED, so no duplication

  • WOW: candidate need not keep track by writing down Industry / Page No.
