Order Execution System
Last week you had given to me
- Printouts of 82 output statements
I had returned these with my
remarks. Along with that, I had also sent my personal copy of REQUIREMENT
CATALOGUE V 1.1 (Signed by me on 8-11-2000).
Here too, on a no. of output
statements, I had made remarks, after comparing these with the print-outs.
You have forwarded both
(photo-copies) to Japan (Applitech).
NOW, with this note, I enclose:
- A chart (4 pages) "Our Customer Flight
Deck Instruments"
In this I have tried to analyse
all 82 output statements along different dimensions. This Bird's
Eye View should help us, in case, we want to delete/
add any statements in future
- SUPER-MENU
I felt that the 82 output
statements should be re-organised / re-grouped in some logical
manner, which makes it easy to locate / look-up any of these.
The first thing I noticed about
these statements was that
Some were giving only past
statistics. I called these "HISTORICAL" statements.
A study of these would reveal
"trends" & provide very useful "insights" and help us
take long-term "strategic decisions", in terms of
- What should be our "focus"?
- Where should we "concentrate"?
- Which areas, need more resources?
- etc. etc.
Rest of the statements, were
required to be referred to for executing ORDERS ON HAND.
These statements provided
"Operational
Control", by
monitoring status / tracking each activity etc.
These statements tell us, where
we are (in respect of each SON) and what next we needed to do, to
execute each order expeditiously.
All consultants would need
to refer to these statements, frequently, for deciding upon
- what is pending in Client's COURT?
- " " Candidate's "?
- " " Our "?
- Who needs to do WHAT & WHEN?
Using this division / logic,
I created two charts
- Report # 100 - Historical Statements
- " # 101 - Operation Control.
Both these statements, are in the
form of - a MATRIX / TABULATION.
Like our "Magic-Cube
Search" (on the website), Applitech should create / put-up
these charts, as a part of a SUPER-MENU.
ALL that a Consultant need to do,
is to click on the (Statement Number / s) desired CELL and Presto!
That statement opens-up on the
Computer Screen.
As simple as that. Hassle-free
search!!
Please convince Applitech
to do this (Highly desirable because of its simplicity).
At the same time, I have also
prepared a TRADITIONAL MENU
Where, one can click and
drill-down into Sub-menus. This is obvious & needs no explanation.
I have also developed a Sub-menu,
centred around KEYWORDS (3.0). One never knows what "word"
will come to mind in the first instance! We should have a system, where a
consultant can approach a particular, statement in several ways: (All roads
lead to Mecca!)
After internal discussions
amongst all consultants, you may want to
form-up / finalize the SUPER
MENU and MATRIX / CHARTS and then forward to Applitech to
implement in OES.
In the charts, wherever, I have
marked "?", I have felt that such a output statement would be
desirable. However, as Operating personnel, you should decide what you
want - and when (maybe OEs V. 2.0?) you want such statements.
Please feel free to phone me /
ask me for clarifications.
You should target to send our
final requirement to Applitech by Saturday (16$^{th}$).
If you feel necessary, you may
plan a visit to Ahmedabad (after fixing-up in advance with Japan)
to explain everything in person.
With regards
[Signature/Initials]

Order Execution System
Last week you had given to me
Printouts of 82 Output statements
I had returned these with my
remarks. Along with that, I had also sent my personal copy of REQUIREMENT
CATALOGUE V 1.1 (Signed by me on 8-11-2000).
Here too, on a no. of output
statements, I had made remarks, after comparing these with the print-outs.
You have forwarded both (photo-copies)
to Tapan (Appltech).
NOW, with this note, I enclose:
A chart (4 pages)
"Our Customer Flight Deck
Instruments"
In this, I have tried to analyse
all 82 output statements along different dimensions. This "Bird's Eye
View" should help us, in case, we want to delete/
add any statements in future.
SUPER-MENU
I felt that the 82 output
statements should be re-organised/re-grouped in some logical manner, which
makes it easy to locate/look-up any of these.
The first thing I noticed about
these statements was that
$\to$ Some were giving only past
statistics. I called these "HISTORICAL" statements.
A study of these, would reveal
"trends" & provide very useful "insights" and help us
to take long-term strategic decisions, in terms of
- What should be our focus?
- Where should we "concentrate"?
- Which areas, need more resources?
etc. etc.
$\to$ Rest of the statements,
were required to be referred to for executing ORDERS ON HAND.
These statements provided
"Operational
Control", by
monitoring status/tracking each activity etc.
These statements tell us, where
we are (in respect of each SONs) and what next we needed to do, to execute
each order expeditiously.
All consultants would need
to refer to these statements, frequently, for deciding upon
- what is pending in Client's COURT?
- " " Candidate's " ?
- " " Our " ?
- Who needs to do WHAT & WHEN?
Using this division/logic,
I created two charts.
- Report # 100 - Historical Statements
- " # 101 - Operation Control
Both these statements are in the
form of a MATRIX / TABULATION.
Like our "Magic-Cube
Search" (on the website), Applitech should create/put up these
charts, as a part of a SUPER-MENU.
All that a Consultant need
to do, is to click on the (Statement Number/s) and Presto!
That Statement opens-up on the
computer-screen.
As Simple as that. Hassle-free
search!!
Please convince Applitech
to do this (Highly desirable because of its simplicity).
At the same time, I have also
prepared a TRADITIONAL MENU
Where, one can click and drill-down
into sub-menus. This is obvious & needs no explanation.
I have also developed a Sub-menu,
centred around KEYWORDS (3.0). One never knows what "word"
will come to mind in the first instance! We should have a system, where a
Consultant can approach a particular statement from several "ways".
(All roads lead to Mecca!)
After internal discussions
amongst all consultants, you may want to
form-up / finalize the SUPER
MENU and MATRIX CHARTS and then forward to Applitech to
implement in OES.
In the charts, wherever, I have
marked "?" I have felt that such a output statement would be
desirable. However, as Operating personnel, you should decide what you
want - and when (maybe OES V. 2.0 ?) you want such statements.
Please feel free to phone
me/ask-me for clarifications.
You should target to send our
final requirement to Applitech by Saturday (16th).
If you feel necessary, you may
plan a visit to Ahmedabad (after fixing-up in advance with Tapan),
to explain everything in person.
With regards,
[Signature]
cc: Nismit.
