CORPORATE

·     Job Advt. History

·     ARM Index (Advertiser Responsiveness Index)

Candidates - "Apply online" History

·     This is refers to our decision today.
Enclosed find some display tables.

·     I consider these VERY VITAL inputs to corporate & candidates.

·     If they are able to view their entire History at once glance - in chronological sequence - they would prefer India Recruiter (and other partner websites) over other jobsites.

·     And, as far as Corpo. HR mgrs are concerned, the FEAR that the whole world (essentially the candidate - would), would openly SEE/ Discuss /Debate their ARM Score (See my Note "Let us Revolutionize" of 12-11-05) would be a  very powerful incentive for them to give some feedback/ any feedback to each & every applicant, WITHIN 24 hours

Global Recruiter

·     When you are driving, once - in a - while you look - up to check, speed - Fuel - tempt etc.

·     Modern cars have of course, many more indicators on their dashboards. A pilot's flight deck has probably more than a hundred! Ditto with on Ocean - liner’s control cabin.

·     In all these cases, purpose is the same, viz.

·     How is the vehicle doing?

·     How is the Journey progressing?

·     What course - correction, if any, needs to be done?

·     A website must also have dashboard - generally called ADMIN TOOL. We have developed one especially for you. For your own website, this will show you :

SEO-SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION

Abhi

27-11-05

Search Engine Optimization12

To get a high rank (on Organic results side) on Search results, on leading search engines, we have already decided to Create, a "Spider-accessible"34

JOB ADVTS ARCHIVES56

of millions o7f job-advts on IndiaRecrui8ter. This huge database will keep growing for ever.9

BUT, we cannot do the same with10

RESUME ARCHIVES11

(i.e. our Common Resume Database).12

For searching these, a Corporate subscriber would need User ID/Password (Log In).13

Hence this "Database" is in "Deep We14b" & inaccessible to search engine Spiders.

So, those millions of Keywords, contained in our (3Ps) 6-8 lakh resumes, cannot be SPIDERED & INDEXED by Google - Yahoo - msn etc.

But, as far as we are concerned, these millions of Keywords, are already INDEXED by ISYS.15

And I suppose, each & every new resume coming in daily as email, also gets indexed by ISYS.16

May be this is why, our Consultants always prefer to Search our resume database 17than ISYS. At least, a ISYS search ensures that, if the search Keyword is contained in a given resume, it is bound to come up in search results!1819

The only problem with ISYS is that there was no algorithm to give any particular "Weightage" to a resume (What logic?) and therefore, no way to "RANK" the search results (resumes) by their20 IMPORTANCE/RELEVANCE.21

Whereas Search-engines have found some Clever methods to arrange the Search-result22s (documents) in the descending-order of relevance. (PageRank algorithm Search History etc)

NOW of Course, Google DeskTop

searches/indexes, not only all documents on your harddisk but (i.e. resume), also CLUBS/MERGES these results - WITH RESULTS found on the web!

So, without making all of our RESUMES "accessible" to Spiders Online, we can certainly make ALL of the KEYWORDS (contained in these 6-8 lakh resumes), accessible! - on India Recruiter!!

Once we do this, India Recruiter will rank very high (on organic side), whether a keyword used by a Surfer is found in our 5 lakh Job Archives or in our 8 lakh Resume Archive.

So, our purpose is served WITHOUT making our Resume Database public/accessible to search engines.

Without even, having to upload these 6/8 lakh resumes on India Recruiter!

ADDING GLAMOUR

Student cashes in $1 million web idea

London: If you have an envious streak, don't read this.

Because, chances are, Alex Tew, a 21-year-old student from a small town in England, is cleverer than you. And he is proving it by earning a staggering $1 million with an idea on the Internet. Selling porn? Dealing in pharmaceuticals? Nope, all he sells are pixels, the tiny dots on the screen that make up all the pages on his home page. He had the brain-storm of the Million Dollar Home page, called, logically enough, www.milliondollarhomepage.com, while lying in bed thinking out how to earn money for university.

The idea: Turn his home page into a million pixels, go 10 pixels by 10 dots, and sell them for a dollar a dot (or square). Or rather, for a $100 for a logo. A 10 by 10 dot square, roughly the size of a stamp, is sold for $100.

He sold a few to his brothers and some friends, and when he had made $1,000, issued a press release.

That was picked up by the news media, which got him more sales, and soon advertisers for everything from dating services to a couple of estate agents to The Times of London were queuing up. Buy the 100 pixels, with links to their own sites.

The result: The Million Dollar home page now looks like a giant mosaic, each square festooned with a multi-coloured confetti of logos.

"All the money's kind of sitting in a bank account," Tew said from his home in Wiltshire, southwest England. "I've treated myself to a car. I'm just taking a break for a couple of days, so I've bought myself a little black Audi." He charges 40% commission from advertisers, some of whom wanted links to his site. He is trying to recover that they were receiving actually 60% of the money. He's trying to get the cost of traditional Internet advertising into perspective. He's not had to juggle running the site with his business degree course, in his home university where he is studying business.

He has already had a stroke of luck. Job offers have been coming in from sites like Craigslist, captivated by a young man who managed to figure out an innovative way to make money online. "I didn't expect it to happen this way," he said. "To have the job offers and approaches from investors... the whole thing is kind of surreal. I'm still in a state of disbelief." -Reuters

Abhi

  • I had mentioned this earlier
  • Visited this homepage today (One page website)
  • Brilliant idea - which clicked (not all do).
  • What can we learn from this idea?
  • eg: on Global Recruiter, can we create a page, where we host logos of (say) 5000 TOP INDIAN job-advertising companies (colourful logos), with each logo, when clicked, takes the visitor to the homepage of that company's website? Each logo a hyperlink. Homepages of most jobsites do show 15/50 Logos of "Featured" Employers. But none has 5000 logos!
  • Such a page could be hosted on "Jobseeker" side.

we have already accumulated names of 49300 companies (from 5/6 lakh job-advts).

you have to arrange these Co-Names in the "descending Order of the job-advts posted" so far.

Of course, then, we have to remove all those companies, which do not have own Websites.

We also have to remove those Companies which do not have logos!

Abhi

What makes any job-portal look "glamorous"?

Practically every jobsite worth its name, flaunts (parades/displays) 2 things on its homepage:

#1 A huge list of names of job-advertisers - running into hundreds, at times. Each name clickable. When clicked all jobs of that company are neatly tabulated (short summary). In turn, in this tabulation, one can click on the "Position" and see the full advt.

#2 Logos & more colourful logos - maybe 20/30 logos. Each logo is also clickable. When clicked, it displays the same short-summary tabulation described above.

Only this morning, we talked about "Searching jobs by Company Name" - and you said we will incorporate it soon.

Of course, these features can be incorporated only in India Recruiter (neither on Global Recruiter nor on WWJ).

But we should do this, keeping in mind that the homepage must not look crowded/congested. This is the problem with Naukri - as also with Clickjobs.com (which I am right now surfing).

I am sure you will find a clever way to do this

  • Incidentally, Clickjobs.com, on its homepage, has a button called "Live Help" - worth checking out.
  • On Clickjobs.com, you cannot enter the job-code (available in Free Press yesterday) to see full job advt.

"Resume Search" by Corporates

I believe we do enable Corporates to conduct resume-search WITHOUT log in, but on clicking SUBMIT button, a message flashes

"We have found 94 resumes matching your search-criteria. To be able to View these, become a SUBSCRIBER & log-in. Thank you!

Now suppose, we, even display the search results as follows (or whatever is our Std format)

| Sdl | Pen No | Name | City | Age | Exp. | Desig. | Rating | Select |

|-----|--------|------|------|-----|------|--------|--------|--------|

| 1   |        |      |      |     |      |        |        |        |

| 2   |        |      |      |     |      |        |        | |

| ..  |        |      |      |     |      |        |        |        |

| 94  |        |      |      |     |      |        |        |        |

Except that, when a Corporate selects and clicks, following message flashes:

"Dear Corporate HR Mgr:

Thank you for searching our Resume Database. To be able to view the full resume and be able to download, you need to Log-in, by becoming a regular Subscriber (Register)."

I have a feeling that, after 4/5 different TRIALS/EXPERIMENTS (to test quantity/quality of our database), a HR mgr would be far more inclined to become a Subscriber!

Under this link on homepage of WWS, we also need to Upload the tabulation

so that, in a lot of future emails to journalists etc., I can simply incorporate this link. (See NDTV & AAJ Tak TV channels!).

ADVT. OR CONTENT OR PRODUCT PLACEMENT

Rajita

“Adut or Content” or “Product Placement”?

  • Read attached articles.
  • When newspapers start publishing our JAS (Job Advt. Summary) is it an "adut" or a "Product Placement"?
  • Al Ries (famous author on Marketing) says:
    • Adut has no credibility. No one believes the claims being made by an adut. But PR (Public Relation/Publicity) has Credibility.
  • IF 100 newspapers start publishing JAS (without us paying a rupee!), with https://www.google.com/search?q=World-Wide-Jobs.com at the bottom — it becomes a fantastic PR/Mktg/Publicity domain. If we apply (and we will!), such a feat would merit inclusion in the Guinness Book of Records! Our claim to fame!
  • There is no reason why we cannot get 100/200/400 newspapers (and magazines too), to publish JAS. It should not be difficult for you to convince them that.
    • Millions need job-related info badly, but have no access (info starved jobseekers)
    • Only we can give them such CONTENT for freshest/latest jobs (and FREE), daily/too.
    • When they print JAS, their orientation will go up dramatically.

TOP PRIORITY

07-11-05

JAS

  • On “Free Content” page, we have a link “Already Registered”
  • Pl. delete this link & add a link called “Already Publishing”
  • A person clicking on this link will get to see a page as annexed
  • A person clicking on “Name of Pubs” will get to see a IMAGE of actual JAS tabulation as published in that paper. Some surrounding area must be shown, to give impression that this is a TRUE/ORIGINAL image.
  • Once this is done, it will be very easy to send promotional email to 500 other publications, asking them to click on link “Already Publishing”
  • That would Impress them.

Coverage Vs. Intensity

(Chart Description): A coordinate system with "Newspapers - Coverage" (0 to 400) on the Y-axis and "Intensity $\rightarrow$" on the X-axis. The Y-axis also shows "Initial Efforts". The X-axis has points marked "3 Col.", "6 Col.", "8 Col.", and "Full Page Supplement" which corresponds to "Subsequent Efforts $\rightarrow$". The initial efforts are shown as a vertical line at 3 Col.

  • We will try to persuade Chitra Publications (Sanj Ale/Karavali Ale/Kannada Jantarangam) and Free Press, to change over to our 6 col./8 col. template.
  • As far as other newspapers are concerned, from day one itself, we will try to persuade them to adopt 6 col./8 col format or even a full page, weekly “Job Supplement”
  • BUT
  • Intensity is NOT our primary goal. Our PRIMARY GOAL is to get 400 newspapers to publish JAS daily, even if it is 3 col $\times$ 10 cm. (Like chitras). Our primary goal is VAST COVERAGE.

To do (after Diwali)

  • Meeting with Kewalramani/Jeet/Ketan Seth.
  • Write to Microsoft (re: .Net usage)
  • Send Diwali Greetings to 475 HR Mgrs (database sent by Rashoma to Abhi — check whether these contain 75 uploaded on WWJ as “Headhunters”)

PERSPECTIVE

Newspaper Article Title: The silliness of online dating

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • I presume our "Match Rate" is much better, but we have yet to compile statistics. (Which we will do, when we are free from more URGENT development)
  • Our "Apply Online" rate is close to 0.8 percent reported by "airintroductions. com"
  • But our rate must improve over time, considering that for every 1 air-traveller there are, I may be 100 jobseekers! I hope to get them to register on WWJ, when they read JAS! This is why, it is important to get JAS published in 100 newspapers.

Newspaper Article Title: Byrd bites the dust, H-1B Desis can rejoice as Ireland hunts for skilled pros

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • Ireland is an English-speaking country.
  • Jobs being posted on Irish jobsites will be in English.
  • So, it should not be too difficult to download such jobs & match & send JAM to Indian jobseekers.
  • On WWJ, we will soon need a page, where such newspaper articles can be reproduced. Articles which say, XYZ countries have need for ABC type of personnel & look to India to fill those jobs.

Newspaper Article Title: 30M MOBILES IN LOW PRICE RANGE TO RING IN BY '06 / Pocket Pick: Sub-Rs 2K cells set to flood market

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • In 6 months we should be able to buy Cell-phones @ Rs. 1500/=
  • In 6 months we should have Global Recruiter / India Recruiter working smoothly with 5 lakh resumes & 50000 job-adults.
  • In 6 months, we should have RAM working smoothly on Airtel (Mumbai) - for Mumbai-based HR mgrs.
  • So, in April 2006, we could call a demo-dinner party of 40/50 HR managers and gift to each of them, a Rs. 1500 handset with Airtel POST-PAID subscription and give on-the-spot demo of RAM. We could recover the cost of handset, if each HR mgr. downloads 500 resumes! - may be just 3/4 job-adults!

Newspaper Article Title: Now 'possible' is voice e-mail / Sovereign Infosys above

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • Sending Voice-messages as email will require at both ends - Sound card - Speakers / - Mike
  • So, this technological development may not have immediate implications (positive or negative) to WWJ/GR/JAM/ RAM etc - but then who knows, how future will unfold!
  • But newer technologies have a habit of making "business-models" redundant. So, we must, for ever, remain on look-out for employing new technologies ourselves FIRST, so as to "obsolete" our competitors.
