Functional Specifications for MATCH-MAKER
➤ MM will be an ONLINE tool, which can be freely downloaded from our website and also other websites such as download.com.
➤ It should be a small tool (4/5 MB) with dot.net framework, which can be either embedded into the tool or will get automatically downloaded on user’s hard disk, without his being aware.
➤ A person who has downloaded MM (from anywhere) should be able to email it to any number of people.
➤ After downloading, MM will get “activated” only after the user:
-
uploads his text resume into the tool
-
selects his "primary function/skill" (any one only) from the drop-lists in the ACTIVATE page
-
selects “date” of activation from calendar( It is quite possible that the "No. of tools activated" may far exceed the “No. of tools downloaded” – due to copying/emailing )
➤ Working like MYRIAD, MM will extract the job-adverts behind each link on a job-search page.
MYRIAD has provision for user to select:
This adds one manual intervention/selection. It would be ideal if we could avoid this. If not, we follow same procedure.
➤ Once the job-adverts hiding behind the job-advt links are “harvested” (usually 10 to 50 per page), MM will try to find function/skill related keywords – relevant to that candidate’s resume – and compute the SCORE.
➤ Upon “Activation” our server will:
-
assign a unique User No. to that user
-
store his text resume as well as his function/skill selection against this User No.
-
In course of time, when we develop a robust Parsing software, we will parse the text resume and store all personal data about that user into a database.
➤ There should be a facility for the user to edit his:
-
text resume
-
function/skill selected earlierWhen he does, our database too will get updated simultaneously.
➤ Match Index to be calculated as:
Advt. No | Raw Score of Job Advt | Raw Score of Text Resume | Match Index | % |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | 32 | 60 | 32/60 | 52 |
2 | 45 | 60 | 45/60 | 33 |
3 | 61 | 60 | 61/60 | 102 |
The adverts will then get displayed in descending order of %, as shown below:
Advt No | Advertiser Company Name | Position Vacancy | Posting City | Match Index | Select |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3 | Delhi | 102 | ☐ | ||
1 | Calcutta | 52 | ☐ | ||
2 | Mumbai | 33 | ☐ |
This would also require that, before starting the job-search, he would need to log-in as a “Registered User”.
➤ As of now, I am unable to think of a foolproof method which will allow a user to:
-
“Apply Online” against any job-advt in Naukri, but with his PROFILE developed on our website (–not the text resume deposited on Naukri).
➤ We also display email ID of the job-advertisers in the search-result table as shown below:
Job Advt No | Advertiser Company Name | Position Vacancy | Posting City | Match Index | Apply Online Option (click any one) |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
3 | 102 | Text Resume deposited on this website ✔ | |||
1 | 52 | ✔ | |||
2 | 33 | ✔ |
→ extracted emails
If a candidate decides to click on any email ID (of a job-advt), then, our software picks up that email ID and inserts it in Resume Courier.
…and clicks SUBMIT
At one go, our Resume Courier s/w will pick up his profiles and forward it (with appropriate covering letter, similar to what I have given for Resume Blast) to all 43 job-advertisers!
Once again, MM will “market” IndiaRecruiter in a very subtle fashion – and very indirectly.
If a job-advt does not contain an email ID, a candidate can always click ☑ to apply online with his text resume.
In fact, this will be the case with most of the websites – since these do not display the email IDs.
APPLICATION HISTORY Table
(Dated: 23/02/08)
In the above tabulation, maybe we can even provide a column for the job-advertiser’s email ID.
This could be a great "FOLLOW-UP" tool for the candidate.
Let us do this!
