Ø The most important feature of V
2.0 will be “RESUME CUSTOMIZATION”
Ø But our problem is that job portals
have been using the words “Resume Customization” for nothing more then re-writing some sentences
& rearranging some paragraphs! It is pure “pedestrian” stuff !
Ø Visitors to our website must be able
to “experience” what we mean by customization an be able to feel its IMPACT
visually. That would require creation of a webpage as enclosed.
Ø By default, some SAMPLE
PROFILES (of a sample resume) would be
loaded/seen and be available for moving/shuffling around to create (literally)
thousands of permutates and combinations. This would not require login anyone can experiment. But, as soon as he clicks on
Ø , counter will go up
Ø Ability to change the background
colour (not the lines) of a profile, using palette is VERY IMPORTANT
and must be incorporated right from the
beginning. This alone will make the “Customization” to COME ALIVE.
Ø Those users, who have TOUCH SCREEN
monitors, should be able to move the profile (from left to right) using fingers
(instead of drag and drop) JAI HO!

hand, if you have already submitted your resume on this website and and
converted it into several graphical profiles , then in order to customize,
select ʘ My resume (after log-in).
If your Resume contains (says) 10 profiles

“Customize”? It is 3,628800! If in doubts, Just click factorial 10. Have

Features (usefulness / Utility)
Ø We have thought / planned out quite
a few useful / utilitarian features, but
all of these must wait till we build-up a large database of PROFILES. Nothing
till then.
Sole purpose of JOB
AGGREATOR is to entice jobseekers to “Submit Resumes”. Hence we must continue
to strengthen Job Aggregator by getting job-feeds /spidering jobs, from as many
websites as possible.
Hopefully, presence of a
large no. of jobs pulled from different jobsites and the ability to apply
against ALL from a single location (one-stop-shop) would provide sufficient
incentive to jobseekers to submit Resumes.
Again recently drafted
email which will go out to jobseekes (purporting to be from Employers) whose
resumes get downloaded at
Resume
Search – Text Resume,
Would also motivate jobseekers to
register
Ø One more way (new feature ?) would
be to parse the resumes to auto fill “Submit Resume” form and then send out
emails to those jobseekers to “edit” & click .
Ø “Job Aggregator” badly needs IT
Job Advts.
This is TOP PRIORITY for success of Job Aggregator (IT Software / IT Hardware etc.)
Submit Resume – Plaint Text
Clicks with jobseekers
and
thousands of text resumes do get
submitted, then, it would by fairly easy to introduce.

to Jobseekers / geared for jobseekers.
Most of them have very few “Employer

In fact, most have nothing more than

On their home page ?
On the other hand, most jobsites try
to attract jobseekers by providing following links, prominently, on their
homepage:
·

In course of time, we too must provide to jobseekers, all these links.
That is SIMPLIFYING their lives
In fact, will have one more link,
viz.
Ø Job Search through MAGIC CUBE
and even
Ø Job Search through MAP of India
Problem with other jobsites is that they
try to place/squeeze/accommodate as many of these links, as possible, right on their
HOME page !
This makes homepage very cluttered /
congested – thereby making it difficult to locate the right “Kind” of jobsearch
!
Again after clicking there is no (easy)
way to find your WAY back (navigation) ! except through clicking BACK button ten
times !
We will keep all of these different
types of job-search links on an

have given us an average rating of

I thought, on this count, we were / are better

Perhaps there button are posing a problem ! Links
tend to disappear, even as you try to “navigate” the cursor !
Ø In one place (at least)

Functional Specifications for
MATCH - MAKER
28/02/08
Ø MM will be an ONLINE tool which can be free downloaded from our website
and also other websites such as download.com
Ø It should be a small tool (4/5 mb)
with dot.net framework which can be
either embedded into the tool or will get automatically download on user’s hard
disk, without his being aware.
Ø A person who has downloaded MM (
from anywhere) should be able to email it to any number of people.
Ø After downloading, MM will get
“activated” only after user
·
uploads
his text resume into the tool
·
selects
his “primary function / skill” (any one only) from the drop lists in the
ACTIVATE page
·
selects
“date” of activation from calendar
(It is quite possible that the
“Number of tools activated” may far exceed the “No. of Tools downloaded” - due to copying/ emailing.
Ø Upon “Activation” our Server will
·
assign
a unique “User No.” to that user
·
store
his text resume as well as his “function
/ Skill” selection against this User No.
·
In
course of time, when we develop a robust “Parsing” software, e will parse the
text resume and store all personal data about that user into a database
Ø There should be a facility for the
user to edit his
·
text
resume
·
function
/ skill selected earlier
Ø By comparing with our server
database, MM will find / extract the keywords from the text resume (for the
Function / Skill earlier selected by that user) and calculate the raw score –
as per the weightages assigned to each keyword. This will be stored (Semi-Permanently).
Of course, this will change if user edits text resume at anytime.
Ø Working like MYRIAD, MM will extract
the job-advts behind each link on a job-search Unfortunately, a job-search page
contains many links other than job-advt. links. In fact non-job advt links far exceed the job-advt. links!
For our purpose, we have to avoid / ignore / eliminate these non-job advt
links.
MYRIAD has provision for user to select

This adds one manual intervention ‘ selection.
It would be ideal if we could avoid
this. If not, we follow same procedure.
Ø Once the job-advts hiding behind the
job-advt links are “harvested” (usually 10 to
50 per page), MM will try to find
function / Skill related Keywords ‘
“relevant” to that candidate’s resume – and compute the SCORE.

May be we should try to extract the email ID
from each job-advt (if given in advt.). Naukri provides email ID’s but Monster
/ Times Jobs / Jobstreet / Jobsdb etc. do not . We should not display the email ID in above
tabulation.
Ø Select will open that job-advt. After reading, candidate
can decide to “Apply Online” & click relevant button. Of, course, this
would require him to earlier deposit his resume on that jobsite.
This would also require that, before staring
the job-search, he would need to login as a “Registered User”.
Ø As of now, I am unable to think of a
fool proof method which will allow a user to
·
“Apply
Online” against any job-advt in Naukri, but, with his PROFIELS developed on our
website (-not the text resume deposited on Naukri).
If we can pull this off, it would have a great (marketing)
advantage !
You may consider the following possibility
Ø We also display email ID of the job-advertisers in the Search-result

extracted emails
If a candidate decides to click on any email ID
(of a job advt), then, our software picks-up that email ID and inserts
it in
Resume Courier
A candidate,
then, can surf pages after pages of
Naukri Job-search result (displayed in descending order in MM). From
each page, he may click on 1/2/3 email
IDs, which keep getting accumulated
into our
Resume Courier
When he has gone through 24 pages (of Job Search
results) and selected 43 job-advts worth applying, he moves to Resume Courier Page,
LOGS-IN (with his user ID/Password) and clicks
At on go,
our Resume courier software will pick-up
his Profiles and forward it (with appropriate covering letter, similar to what
I have given for Resume Blast) to all 43 job advertisers !
As against
this, should he decide to click-open each select job-advt on Naukri and decide
to “Apply Online”,
Ø he can only send “text” resume
Ø he will need to click “Apply Online”
43 times !
This seem
such a great idea (if it can be successfully executed) !
We are
giving the candidate a far superior option ,
but
We are NOT
forcing him to register on our website.
Once again,
MM will “market” IndiaRecruiter in a very Subtle fashion – and very indirectly.
If a
job-advt does not contain an email ID, candidate can always click to apply online with his text resume.
In fact,
this will be the case with most of the “website-since
these do not display the email IDs .
Another
by-product (of candidate applying through Resume Courier method):
We will be
able to compile a very comprehensive “APPLICATION HISTORY” of each user
candidate as shown below:
Candidate Name: Unique No: Activation
Date: |
||||||
Resume
Couriered History |

We can make
available such “HISTORY to a registered candidate in his own
ADMIN TOOL,
Where he
can then fillip “response- details” in the last column, on his own, at any
time.
In the
above tabulation, may be we can provide a column for job-advertiser’s email ID.
By clicking
on this email ID, outlook will open, and the candidate can send a
REMINDER
to that
job-advertiser, to inquire about his application !
This could be a great “FOLLOW-UP” tool for the
candidate.
He does not
even need to remember, to whom he has applied to, When and for What
position !
Let us do
this !

MatchMaker
Dear Jobseeker,
When you Conduct job search on any job portal,
you are presented with hundreds of jobs (even after selecting precise / narrow refined
search criteria). Which of these are best suited to your expertise / skill /
knowledge ?
That is one question, job-portals will not /
cannot answer !
Job portals expect you to open / read each of
those 252 job advts to figure out for yourself which advts are “relevant” and
“how much” relevant.
And quite often that “most relevant” job-advt.
is 240th on the search-result ! But, to discover that you would need
to spend 4 hours (@1 min /advt) !
But Matchmaker will do this for you in 40 seconds !
In 40 seconds, MatchMaker will “read-rate-rank”
all those 252 job-avts and then arrange these in a neat tabulating, in the descending
order of their “Relevance (suitability)”.
To assess / evaluate / Compute the “Relevance”,
MatchMaker will compare each of those Advts with you own resume.
Your resume is your alter-ego, your “Other
Self”. It contains all the keywords which represent your expertise / skills/
knowledge.
Each job-advt also contains all the keywords,
describing the expertise / skills / knowledge that this particular jobs
demands.
Does that mean that MatchMaker simply detects the
presence / absence of certain keywords, both in your resume and in any job-advt,
to carryout the matchmaking ?
Certainly not.
If it was that simple, all job portals would
have done it !
In MatchMaker, each keyword (and there are over
15000), carries a specific “Weightages”, depending upon it’s occurrence and
context. And these “Weightages” are continuously / dynamically changing as each
of those keywords get “voted” at
Poll-e-Ticks.
True, we decided these weightages initially
(after studying thousands and thousands of resumes and job-advts). Then
withdrew from the scene and handed over the process to the jobseekers and the recruiters.
So, use your “Vote” to influence the weightages at Poll-e-Ticks
Feel free to even add new keywords
Coming back to MatchMaker, it looks as follows:

Logic
for Computing “Match Index”: Ø Compute
Raw score of Mr. Patel’s (candidate) resume (Say 60) (He has selected Material
Management as his function) Ø Compute
Raw socre of all (downloaded job advts ( for Material Management) Ø Taking
patel’s Raw Score (of 60) = 100,
calculate Match Index of ech job advt and arrange in descending order. |

search, we may not be able to provide “Apply Online” feature !
Hence
question may arise, if HR Managers and jobseekers would find this useful !
Another use
of the “harvested and raw scored”, resume and job advts, could be to enable
Ø HR Manager to look up the BEST (top-scored)
job-advts for any given function / Skill – then use that as a HELP to write /
construct their own job advt. i.e. using BEST advts (for any function /skill)
as a BENCHMARK/IDEAL
Ø Jobseekers to look-up BEST
(TOP-scored) resumes for any given function / skill -then use that as a help to
rewrite their own text resume.

already explained this logic / U/I in

MATCH-MAKER
Note
Ø This could have some relevance to
MATCH MAKER
(which too
we have planned to developed)
Ø Some day, thousand of jobseekers
would have downloaded “Match Maker” and hundreds of these jobseekers may
“online” at the same time (on different job portals), searching and “Matching”
the job advts against their own resumes. We would have captured their “resumes”
when they try to “Activate” this tool. We may also “capture” the job advts
being searched / matched by each jobseeker (using Matchmaker tool) while he is
“online”. So each user becomes our human job-advt “SPIDER ! Then, we can
“SERVE” matching job-advts to each user, as soon as he comes online
Functional Specification
For
MATCH MAKER
Background
Ø Millions of jobseekers currently “Waste”
billions of man hours on various job-site, searching for “suitable / matching”
jobs – jobs which” match” their own skills / expertise / experience / education
Ø Jobseeks try to narrow-down their
searches by applying a no. of “Search-criteria”. Even then, most searches
end-up in hundreds of each-results, requiring many hours to open /read each
job-advt to find out which ones are “really’ suitable / matching
Ø This happens due to
·
Large
job-advt database on website
·
Mach-making
algorithm, takes into account only the “Search-parameters” selected by that
candidate
·
No
attempt (no possibility) to match that candidates “RESUME” (skill keyword) with
“Job Advt” (skill keywords)
Ø When a candidate open/reads any job
advt, he is, sub-consciously doing this matching, He know his own skills. His
own skill-related keywords are already “store” in his memory. When he reads a job-advt, his brain is picking
up the keywords contained in the job-advt and match/compare these (Keywords)
with his won “skill Keywords”
If he finds may ?matches”, his brain tells him that
this is a GOOD/MACHING/RELEVANT job-advt and worth “applying” for.
If he finds vey few “matches” then it is a POOR
match and not worth considering
Ø It is this “keywords matching
making” process that takes a long time since the brain must “read and compare”.
This process is made “Worse” if there are hundreds of job-adgts to be “read and
matched”
After
reading/matching a few, brain gets tired -even slackens.
Match-making
process deteriorates Quality of decisions suffer.
DOWNSIDES
Ø Long time to read/compare
Ø In consistencies of match-making
Ø Mentally tiring
Ø Deteriorating Process Quality
SO WHAT KIND S/W TOOL REQUIRED?
So, what is
needed is a s/w tool that will
Ø Accurately “match” the keywords
contained in a candidate’s own resume with each and every job-advt that gets
short-listed during job-search
Ø Do this (matchmaking) consistently
/ Uniformly / Quickly / un-tiringly)
Ø Re-arrange search results (of
job-advts) in the descending order of the ‘MATCH INDEX’ (green /Blue etc.
Ø Display job-advts as “Tabulation”
with a provision to click /open any job-advt, in order to read and
let the brain”re-confirm” the “relevance” (Match Index) established by the tool
Ø Enable candidate to “Apply Online”
against any GOOD/MATCHING job advt (shown in TABULATION) – even if he has NOT
submitted his resume on that particular job-portal.
To do this, our TOOL will need to be
“pre-loaded” with candidate’s full text resume, once and for all (of course, he
can EDIT anytime).
But the idea is that the RSUME will “reside”
inside the TOOl and can be carried from one job portal to another job portal. A
candidate need not submit his resume to dozens of job-portals !
Candidates will simply LOVE such a feature !
Candidate will be required to “preload” the
MATCH MAKER with his text resume first , in order to connect ot IndiaRecruiter
– so that the TOOL can be “Activated”. The Match Maker itself can be downloaded
from ay no. of websites like
Download.com
To activate Match Maker, a person would need to
fill-up following data in tool and then connect to IndiaRecruiter
·
Name: First Last ·
Gender: Male Ο Female Ο ·
City
·
Country:
·
Email ID:
Ø No need to assign User ID /
Password but this data (stored on our Server) will help us to find out “ “how
many of those jobseekers who downloaded Matchmaker, came back to properly
submit resume on our website“ ? |
Ø Unless duly / properly “activated”,
tool cannot be used.
Ø Tool will work on feature similar to
MYRIAD – however MYRIAD’s negative point is selection of
First Link
Last
Link
Which is cumbersome ! It would be nice if we can, somehow,
improve upon this feature>
Either, all job-advt Links get picked up
automatically OR may be cut /paste.
Ø Click live Button ð
Will show
MATCHED
JOBS TABULATION (MATCH INDEX) |
|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Excellent Average
Good Poor
|
Ø Job Advts which do NOT contain
advertiser’s email ID will be ignored/rejected.
Because,
Without advertiser’s email ID, our
TOOL cannot forward the candidate’s resume !
Ø
Point of Discussion
When a candidate clicks “Apply” he
is ONLINE (may be on any job portal). That might enable us to pick-up and store
in a database
Ø All the job-advts which a candidate ever
applied for chronologically
Database of Intentions =
Job Apply History
Trend analysis will tell us what kind of job,
he is looking for !
This may be better than “harvesting” missions
of job-advts !

to ever post his resume on any job-site ! once he ahs loaded it in Match-Maker. GREATEST FEATURE !! |

HR Managers |

Dear HR Manager
/ Headhunter Over the years,
you have searched and downloaded, thousands (even millions) of text resumes
from major job-portals. Even same resumes, again and again. Why ? Because there
is no way to search those thousand of resumes on your hard disk. And those major
job-portals won’t give you their Resume Search Engine to enable you to
conduct offline searches. Why? Because they
want you to keep subscribing year-after-year-. They love your money. We love
to simplify your life. So, we invite
you to download our Resume Xplorer
(Rx) Absolutely FREE
– and without any obligation. Then search all
the Profiles lying on your hard disk (-Sorry, Resume Xplorer won’t search
those text resumes) Profiles that
you might have downloaded from here or emailed to you by Candidates // No more annual subscription renewals No more “Per
Seat” / license Just unlocking
value trapped in your hard disk. -
