Creating Communities
All recent books on
Internet-based marketing talk about Creating Communities.
Communities of Users (of a given
product/service)
Like minded people sharing
similar interests,
persons with similar background
(school/college/city/education/caste/status/religion/zodiac
birthdates/profession etc)
persons with similar/identical
“Beliefs” (political/social/economic/environmental etc)
In his famous book “Idea Virus”
author Seth Godin calls these communities “Bee-Hives”.
In his opinion, such
“communities” play a very important role in spreading a virus – a IDEA VIRUS.
And, JAM, after all, is an IDEA a
CONCEPT.
We are struggling to see that JAM
IDEA/CONCEPT spreads across the
country like a VIRUS, like a Wild Fire.
For this to happen, in each such
Community/Bee-hive, we have to “Infect” one/few bees with the virus! Once, one
bee is infected, the virus will spread through the rest of the hive.
This is the principle behind the
"birth of bloggers & blogsites.
Everyone wants to “talk” – only
if he can find some listeners!
Since times immemorial, mankind
has “enjoyed” giving away “advice” – for free, if only one can find some
“takers”!
Blogsites give the
“talkers/advice-givers” an opportunity to say things. And the more
controversial things get talked about more!
Drawing from the foregoing
observations, our task is to create/construct COMMUNITIES OF JAMMERS.
[Of course, right now, with only
318 registrations – scope is limited]
Ultimately when each CITY
boasts of several hundred – or thousands – JAMMERS it should be possible
to create CITY-WISE communities of Jammers.
A city-wise FORUM/PLATFORM
would provide an avenue for jammers of that city to meet/talk/exchange
experience.
You may say,
Cities are CRUEL places!
After working for 8 hours and spending 3 hours on the road daily, who has time
to “meet/talk”?
You are right. NO one.
Physically.
But it is different with VIRTUAL
world – the World-wide Web.
In WWW, people can meet and chat
from the comfort of their homes – at time of their choosing. Distances become
irrelevant. Physical presence becomes irrelevant.
This would call for creating on
WWJ an online “chat” feature where jammers can log in & share their
experiences (– be ready for some nasty remarks too!).
We may not be ready for that – as
yet! For that, we must wait till we have several thousand SATISFIED/HAPPY
JAMMERS.
Then, a few negative
responses/reactions would get overlooked by the majority of “happy” reactions.
But, in the meantime, can we
think of introducing enclosed “Ask Any Jammer”?
Q:
How much time/effort required?
Against this, what is the
“benefit” to be derived?
Will “potential” jammers get
tempted to use it?
Will “existing” jammers get
motivated to reply?
What happens in Worst-case?
“ “ “ Best-case?

Ask Any Jammer
Dear Doubter
You are a pragmatist. Before
buying a product or a service, you first want to check-out with people who have
bought it/used it.
For you, it is same with JAM.
Before you REGISTER, you want to check-out with others who have used it.
What has been their experience, in terms of
Relevance of the job-alerts [how
good a match with their job-preferences?]
“Quantity” of job-alerts [to choose from]
We appreciate your concern. In
fact, we encourage you to “talk-it-over” with a few Jammers who have
been using JAM service for sometime. Let their experience (good
or bad) guide your own decision.
Just enter your details/questions
below.
We will forward your contact
details/questions/
to 10 existing Jammers
(either from your own City or nearby cities) and request them to respond to
you.
directly
on your mobile no or on your
email ID.
We have no doubt they will give
you their honest/unbiased opinion.
And if they happen to be
close-by, you may even want to meet-up and get them to share their experience
with you!
