Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

With regards,

"Who Says Elephants Can’t Dance?"

Enclosed find a few pages from this very readable book.
What can we learn from these pages?

  • IBM was too slow in bringing new products to market (– norm was, one major product every 4/5 years!).

The joke in the (fast-moving) computer industry was,
“At IBM, products don’t get launched; they escape”!

We are NOT an elephant, so we need to be able to move fast/faster.

Let us launch BETA version of ResuMine/ResuSearch (as Web Service – not enterprise) on 15 July 2003.

Let 6 Mumbai-based companies use this beta version free for next 3 months, and give us feedback i.e. up to 15th Oct. Let us use this feedback to improve, before launching commercial version on 1 Nov. 2003.

Then follow-up with additional versions every month.

Let us have a “Sense of Urgency” (p.202)
