PROPOSAL

Nita Patel (3P)

From: HCP [hcp@recruitguru.com] Sent: Tuesday, January 04, 2011 1:51 PM To: khalid.saeed@relianceada.com,' vishal.chinchankar@relianceada.com' Cc: 'rohan.dand@yahoo.com','Mrinal.Shinde@relianceada.com Subject: Job Alert Channel on BigTV Attachments: JAT-Job_Alert_on_TV.doc

Dear Vishal / Khalid

Many thanks for the courtesy extended during my visit to your office yesterday.

As suggested, I attach my proposal for a Job Alert Channel on BigTV - to be powered by our website

www.CustomizeResume.com

I am convinced that a combination of BigTV Job Alert Channel and lowly mobile sets in the hands of 600 million jobseekers, will bring about a social revolution - apart from changing the paradigm of online recruitment industry, by eliminating searching for jobs on jobsites.

During my meeting, I missed out to mention that HP Lab Tasklet Technology also works on landlines thru voice channel (read , "Why you need it ?" on www.SiteOnMobile.com )

I now await your early response

With regards hemen parekh

Mission

  • To take job-information to jobseekers in the farthest corners of India, where there is very poor internet penetration
  • To enable such remote jobseekers to access job-info through Reliance BigTV (Job Alert Channel)
  • To enable these jobseekers to "Apply" against any job-alert, using a low-end / non- GPRS mobile
  • To eliminate jobsearching on jobsites
  • In matter of job-related info, to provide a level-playing field to rural jobseekers
  • To make rural jobseekers " Pro-active " instead of passively waiting for some recruiter to discover their resumes on jobsites

Job Alert Channel

  • Mission outlined earlier, will be accomplished through launch of a Job Alert Channel on BigTV DTH
  • This channel will NOT require searching of suitable jobs by entering "Job Search Parameters" (as in case of DishTV).
  • This channel will display, on a single page a tabulation of (upto) 50 jobs, which are "matched" with the user's resume.
    • Tabulation will have following columns:
      • Company (Job Advertise) Name
      • Job Title / Position / Designation
      • City of posting
      • Educational – Qualification required
      • Experience required
      • Skills / Function background required
      • Job ID
  • Match-making software will select these 50 jobs, from a (current/live) job-advt database of nearly 150,000 jobs, which are "aggregated" from various jobsites
  • Tabulation will refresh once-a-day, by deleting expired jobs and by adding new jobs.

 (How will Jobseeker Apply?)

  • There is a net-addition of approx 1000 job-advt everyday. This will further go up with addition of more job-portals for aggregation.

How will Jobseeker Apply ?

  • When the user / jobseeker ( BigTV subscriber concerned), comes across a job (in the tabulation of 50 jobs), he pulls out his mobile and sends SMS as follows:
    • "jam <space>apply<space> Job ID"
    • to
    • 9756510001
    • As simple as that !
  • Our webserver will pull out his resume from database and email it to the concerned job-advertiser
  • There is no limit on the number of jobs that he can apply against

(Subscriber Charges / Revenue Share)

Subscriber Charges / Revenue Share

  • A Subscriber of BigTV's Job Alert Channel, will need to pay Rs. 50/= per month for use of this channel
  • Out of this "Subscription Fee", BigTV will pay to RecruitGuru Rs. 20/= per subscriber per month towards, providing:
    • Job Alert Content
    • "Job Apply" Resume Delivery Service
  • For making available its SMS gateway, if any payment needs to be made to HP Labs – India ( www.siteonmobile.com ), the same will be made by RecruitGuru and Reliance BigTV will have no liability in this regard.

Promotion

  • Since RecruitGuru have meager financial resources, promotion of " Job Alert Channel " will be the responsibility of Reliance BigTV.
  • Should Reliance decide to capture jobseeker data ( through Jobseeker Registration Form ) on its own website and then pass-on this data to CustomizeResume Server, Reliance will have no need to " promote " our website (www.CustomizeResume.com)

Use of HP Lab's Tasklet Technology

  • RecruitGuru has signed an agreement with HP Lab for use of its Tasklet Technology, for its "Job Alert on Mobile - JAM" service. This one year agreement will, most likely, get renewed in the years to come
  • Although currently free, HP – Labs may require RecruitGuru to pay some charges in future, for use of its Tasklet Technology / its SMS gateway
  • Should HP Lab ever withdraw use of its Tasklet Technology / SMS gateway, Reliance will need to provide its own SMS gateway / shortcode to RecruitGuru, to be able to continue JAM service to BigTV Job Alert Channel Subscribers

Benefits

  • To BigTV
    • Through launch of Job Alert channel, BigTV will be able to dramatically increase its subscriber-base and ARPU
    • BigTV brand image will get deeply ingrained in the minds of millions of rural Indians.
  • To RecruitGuru
    • RecruitGuru will be able to earn revenue to hire more staff and come-up with many more innovative " Recruitment Related Applications " for hosting on BigTV platform
  • To Jobseekers
    • In matter of jobs, rural / small – town jobseekers will be able to compete with their city-based counterparts
    • Lack of PC/Internet connection will no more stop rural jobseekers from getting pro-active and aggressively pursuing job-opportunities which were so far, unknown to them.

MOU

  • If this proposal meets with your expectations, we should enter into an MOU for further discussions, leading to signing of a definitive and legally binding agreement.

ANNEXURE

Excerpts from “ Handset Revolution “ Arun Katiyar ( Lounge / Jan 01, 2011)

  • " I believe the mobile industry will pivot around Gandhian Innovation in the year to come – innovation that is environment – friendly, that which overcomes barriers imposed by the lack of education, and which creates affordable services ".
  • Examples of " Gandhian Innovation " cited by Arun Katiyar:
    • One97 Communications
      • Launched end of 2000
      • 400 million mobile telephone users, use this service today.
      • Their DAKIA service was mentioned by President Barack Obama in his speech to Indian Parliament
      • DAKIA is a kind of personalized voicemail service that provides the farmer with regular updates about some of his critical farm related concerns – such as the price of onions at the wholesale mandi or when electricity for running tubewells will be available
      • Applications such as DAKIA may seem mundane, but they create new low-cost ways of doing things that are accessible to the poor at the very bottom of the pyramid "
  • Comviva – Bangalore
    • Comviva is the result of studying the needs of extremely poor who cannot even afford the cheapest mobile handset.
    • Comviva has begun to create mobile identities for people who can't afford handsets.
    • Shanbhag says that in several African nations, users buy a mobile number and a PIN, but no handset. Using a handset that belongs to a friend, community or is borrowed temporarily from a local store, the users dial their number, enter the PIN and for a short while are able to use the handset as their own (they get the bill for the service used ), to make calls, sends SMSes, return missed calls and listen to voice messages.
    • “It's ideal for those like plumbers and electricians who need mobile access to conduct business but cannot afford a handset. Without this service, they would lose out to competition that has no greater skill or too than a mobile phone ".
