Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

GEEK CHALLENGE

Title: Geek Challenge (Note: To be replaced by "Poll-e-✓")

Date: 05-12-06

Main Content:

Dear IT Professional,

Your profession is exploding. Hardly a day passes without announcements of brand new products/services/softwares/technologies. In their wake, each of these gives rise to new skills/expertise. Yesterday's skills are obsolete today, and today's skills will become irrelevant tomorrow. Even as you are struggling to master new skills, you are trying to unlearn the old.

Your resume is peppered with skill-related keywords, some of which you will delete and replace with new ones during next editing—maybe in a few months. For deciding your suitability for a skill-based position/vacancy, Recruitment Managers would look for specific skill-related keywords in your resume.

Which ones should they look for?

You decide.

Here is your challenge.

You will see below, a list of "Skill-Areas." When you click on the skill-area to which you belong, we will present to you a set of keywords in the "Keyword Box." Now you select those keywords which YOU (the subject expert) consider to be relevant (to your "Skill Area"), by ticking $\square$. There is no restriction on the number of keywords that you might select. As soon as you complete (Submit), you will get to see how your co-professionals have voted.

Please feel free to add new "Skill-Areas" and/or new "Keywords."

Why should you contribute your knowledge/expertise?

We will use TOP-VOTED, 50 keywords (in each Skill Area), to generate Raw-Scores for each resume and plot graphical profiles (See SAMPLE). This will be a dynamic online process—changing every second—modifying every candidate's profile—helping Recruitment Managers to zoom in on TOP PERFORMERS—Wikipedia of online recruitment!
