Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

With regards,

RESUME RATER

Resume Rater (Dated 16/03/07)

What is it supposed to do:-

  • Enable upload of a big file of text resumes (any upper limit?)
  • "Score" these, based on "function/skill" selected
  • Rearrange display tabulation in the descending order of scores.
  • Enable following manual data-entry into the display table:
    • Name of Candidate
    • email
    • Phone
    • Interview Score
    • TO
    • From
    • Position/Vacancy Name
    • Date?
    • View Resume $\boxed{V}$ Column
  • Enable emailing of display table $\wedge$ downloading
  • Storing of display tables and being able to search display tables by "Position/Vacancy" name
  • Click on "View Resume $\boxed{V}$ column to reveal full text resume along with One Profile Graph (V 2.0?)
  • Send out emails (automatically) to each resume-owner, containing
    • a) First stage (V.1.)
      • Profiles: the new Currency of Recruitment
      • Issued by: www.IndiaRecruiter.net
    • b) Second Phase (V.2.)
      • entire text resume with highlighted keywords and One profile graph

Strategy:

  • To popularise Resume Rater amongst Corporates & Recruitment Agencies
  • Get them used to Profiles concept to gradually move to IIT.
  • Ride piggy-back on Resume Rater Users (Corpo + Agencies) to spread email messages (re: India Recruiter) to lakhs of candidates daily.
  • Let them do our marketing! (There is no free lunch in the world!)

Tactics

  • We give away Resume Rater CD $\rightarrow$ FREE to participants of ERA conference.
  • On the spot, we "activate" each CD, by Sonal/Swati/Yogesh entering onto the CD,
    • Name of Person
    • Designation (if available)
    • Company Name
    • email
    • Phone
    • by asking for his Visiting Card.
  • We will explain that the CD cannot be activated unless we enter this data, before handing over the CD.
  • Subsequently we can compile the database of those who took the RR CD, to follow up re: their feedback/usage etc.
  • We tell the requesters (of free CD) that we will keep in touch with them, so that we can get feedback on improvements to be incorporated in V 2.0.
  • We need NOT tell them that our RR S/W will automatically send out email messages to the resume-owners! Users of all free email services are used to this kind of "promotion-messages" at the bottom of each email they send out/receive. This is a very acceptable practise for people who want to use FREE services.
  • By this piggy-back device, we avoid having to "spam" millions of jobseekers on our own! We avoid being black listed and avoid loading our own server!
  • Each email message will, at the bottom, carry the
    • Name of Sender
    • Company Name
    • Designation
    • (which we "activated" the CD.)
  • So emails will appear "GENUINE" to resume-owners.
  • To the extent possible, we should try to make CD, "uncopiable"-but don't waste time on this feature.
  • CD will be "Auto-Start" & contain detailed instructions on usage.
  • Let us keep 500 CDs ready before 22$^{\text{nd}}$.
