“JobMine” Software Tool
See my yesterday’s note, enclosing magazine! “naukri.com”
Enclosed, find similar magazine “Jobnet”
You would have noticed that both magazines are published by different jobsites.
They are, through these magazines trying to convert their online content into offline (print) content in order to reach out to millions & millions of jobseekers who have no access to internet or who find surfing from Cybercafe too expensive.
Trying to achieve this objective (of reaching out to millions) by printing YOUR OWN MAGAZINE is a very expensive proposition. A hell of a lot of effort is required in compiling / composing / editing / printing / distribution etc. etc.
- Question to be asked (and answered) is:If the only objective is to “deliver”
Our job-ads content to millions of jobseekers, is it necessary that we should “own” OUR OWN MEDIA / COMMUNICATION-CHANNEL?
Would it not be far cheaper — and extremely efficient — to use SOMEBODY ELSE’s media/channel?
In any case running/operating a Media/Communication channel (whether TV / Radio / Newspaper / Magazine / Telephone / Cellphone / DSL / VPN etc. etc.) is a very complicated/specialized job. We have no “core-competence” in that. In any case, it is not our main job!
Our main job is to create (job-advt) “content”. That is our expertise, not running a media.
We should become “content providers” to media companies (as far as job-adverts are concerned). We should become an “Aggregator” of job-advt. related content & let the media companies distribute such content to millions of their subscribers.
This is the concept behind “JAWS” (Jobs Across World Summary).
And we want such media companies (especially newspapers & magazines) to print our CONTENT free-of-cost! — in much the same way that, today, they do print TV channels / Radio channels / Train Timings etc. etc. free-of-cost to...
The Content-Provider!
Eg.:
Target Readership | Content |
---|---|
Shareholders | “Share-prices” |
Movie-goers | “Movie-details” |
Travellers | “Train Timings” |
TV Watchers | “TV Channels” |
Professionals | “Conf/Seminar details” |
Elders | “Obituary notes” |
Jobseekers | “Job-Adverts” |
Contractors | “Tender data” |
Students | “Coaching-classes” |
Children | “Cartoon-strips” |
Ladies | “Recipes” |
etc. etc. |
And most of the newspapers obtain such content “free”. Sometimes they even pay the content-provider to give the content (eg: syndicated cartoon-strips / expert columns etc.).
Newspapers/magazines make their money from:
Subscriptions (a large circulation also brings more paid adverts)
Paid Adverts
As of now, our “Composer Tool (Auto Conversion)” is able to pick up digital job-adverts from 2/3 websites & create a “structured database”.
But if “JAWS” has to succeed, we should have a tool (JobMine), which is able to process any digital job-advert from any source (–including job-adverts appearing in print-media, which we scan & OCR).
Only such a “structured database” of thousands of job-adverts picked up from hundreds of “sources” & uploaded on our website can truly become SEARCHABLE.
And then only we can persuade dozens of newspapers/magazines to become “subscribers” of JobMine (just as corporates would become subscribers of Resumine).
With one major difference.
In case of Resumine, corporate subscribers would have to pay us for each transaction.
In case of JobMine, newspapers/magazine subscribers would get our JAWS content “free” – and in a format ready for printing in their respective publications.
In my notes on “JAWS” I have given a “format” of JAWS as it would appear in newspapers.
APPLY ONLINE
This would enable our website to build up a very large resume database.
Of course, when any jobseeker (having submitted his resume to us) clicks on [Apply Online], we (i.e., our server) will forward his resume with full name/contact details to the ADVERTISER.
So we don’t make any money! This becomes a FREE service to the job-advertisers & FREE to jobseekers!!
So, where & how shall we make our money?
(rather than release a job-advert in newspaper & then wait for 3P to pick it up / convert it into structured database & then upload it on its website).
If someday, we have 10 million resumes on our website, why should any Corporate take the trouble of composing/releasing a job-advt on websites/newspapers? Would he rather not straight away conduct a RESUME-SEARCH on our website?
This is how we will make money. This is why JAWS – and therefore JOBMINE tool – is very important.
