Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

WRITE UP EDIT YOUR RESUME

Dear Jobseeker,

There are many reasons why you need to edit your resume from time to time. Why?

  • Your contact details have changed (Add/Phone/email etc)
  • Got promoted? Then your designation would have changed
  • Got annual increment? Then you must revise your salary data
  • Changed Job? Carry out changes in "Experience" block
  • Added a Qualification? Let it reflect in "Edu. Quali" block
  • Acquired new skills? Make sure to mention it in your text resume (so that skill-related Keywords get displayed in Karmascope)

Of course, you can modify Karmascope, even without changing text resume. All you need to do is

  • On your "Submit Resume" form, click on "SAVE"
  • Next click on "VIEW PROFILES" button Now you will see your graphical Profiles as well as your Karmascope. In Karmascope there is a provision to move up Keywords (from bottom boxes to Top boxes). Look at the bottom boxes. Do these display one or more keywords where you have acquired those skills recently? Then just move those keywords to the top boxes and then click SAVE.

Although what I described above (in respect of Karmascope) is possible, best thing to do is to edit your text resume (delete old one then cut/paste new one). What is the advantage of doing this?

  • It will extract the new (skill-related) keywords from your

text and automatically add into the TOP BOXES of your Karmascope.

But, more importantly,

  • It will also re-compute your RAW SCORE as well as your PERCENTILE SCORE and then re-draw your graphical Profiles.

But, if you were to simply move some keywords (from bottom boxes to the top boxes), your RawScore/Percentile Score do not get re-computed. So it is best to revise your text resume (to reflect your newly acquired skills/knowledge). Even in this case, you have an opportunity to move-up some Keywords later on.

Coming to think of it, even if you do not edit your text resume, your RAW Score & your Percentile Score are changing all the time! Simple - because

  • Other co-professionals are editing their resumes, ever so often
  • Thousands of NEW co-professionals are adding their resumes to our database (changing keyword profiles & weightages).

Initially your RawScore/Percentile Score will change very slowly (imperceptibly). But once our database starts growing rapidly, your scores too will change rapidly (for better or for worse).

If for no other reason than to check-out your "relative standing" amongst your co-professionals, you may want to return to this page again and again to download your latest Profiles.

If co-professionals are your Competitors (in the job-market), you better keep a close watch on your ever-changing Profiles. Remember, in IIT, Recruitment Manager is looking at your CURRENT/INSTANT Profiles.

Rahul
