I appreciate that the tech team was very last week trying to solve the problem of MACRO (freeze), hence:

  • Prioritize pending work.
  • Prepare a timeframe / project-plan based on resources available.

Password Circulation

User IDs to 66 companies will get sent next week, followed by an email circular to 1000 placement agencies by end of next week (as soon as Rajiv has finalized auto-server ID / password).

This means 66 companies will complete their Free Trial periods by 8 Dec.

By that date, Recruitguru has to be ready at any cost to be able to:

  • Permit subscribers to tick / select transactions of their choice.
  • Enable subscribers to make online payments (in case of Credit Card / Payment Gateway)
    OR
    Make online entry of cheque No / DD No and send cheque / DD thru courier along with a print-out of that page / email.

To ensure that this happens by 8 Dec, enclosed from my brief proposal / plan for completion of software development with some tentative dates.

Given the 8 Dec deadline, we have to plan backward — we do not have the option of shifting that date!


If required, tech team must work over weekends too to strictly adhere to the targets mentioned in enclosed Gantt chart.

While others are working on these, you may prepare Project Plan for Phase 3, viz.:

  1. Recruitguru + Flight Deck
  2. Major / Minor Improvements ? (My notes with Abhi)
  3. Common Features

(Subscriber & Recruitguru Consoles)

  • Please refer to my notes dated 28/09 and 29/09, enclosing 14 + 14 screens (U.I.)
  • See enclosed chart. I request you to fill in the “Target Deployment Dates” on this chart for each screen and return a copy for my record by tomorrow.
  • Assuming that the free trial period (of 30 days) for 58 agencies starts next Monday — Oct. 13 — there is imperative need to ensure U.I.s are deployed latest by Nov. 13.

Apart from these, other urgent items for quick deployment are:

  • Home Page Counter
  • Space for Accuracy Graphs
  • Feature for Subscriber to Re-name / Re-edit extracted resumes (in batch mode)
  • Candidates to EDIT / UPLOAD directly into respective PRIVATE databases
  • Replacement of TOP part of ImageBuilder with subscriber’s own Name / Logo

Enclosed find my proposal for subscriber flight deck

·     Recruitguru flight deck

·     Neither the lists, nor the contents of various UIs, are comprehensive / final.
·     As time goes, we will need to add some more. 

·     Even now, you are welcome to add/ delete/ edit/ modify/ combine, if you feel t hat such changes would make a subscriber's life easy

·     Making a subscriber's life "simple / easy/ uncomplicated/ institutive" is an important goal.

·     But we have to make a beginning & present to the subscribers, a few UI screens - then ask their feedback. In 6 months time we will have enough feedback to go back and improve.

·     In the meantime we have next 28 days to design / develop/ deploy, enclosed 28 UIs!

·     We have to do this before the 30 days free trial period runs out on the first batch of 58 companies who have registered.

·     There are some UIs which they will need immediately upon completion of free trial period. I have marked these (H) / High Priority to be taken up completed fast.

·     Similarly, for us also there are some UIs which are top - priority since we want to capture the "Transaction - usage" statistics, during the free - trial period (from day one of launch).

      Then only we can

·     Know "price of promotion" (Subscriber wise)

·     Predict who we can persuade to become a regular subscriber (based on free trial period usage)

·     Work - out the "Server - Load" & fine tuning

·     Long before free trial period gets over (say by oct, 30), our payment gateway must become operational to accept credit - card payments.

·     No web service can exist without this option.

·     But at the same time, we know that almost all the Indian Companies would prefer to make payments thru cheque /DD, which they will send to us thru courier (- I have forgotten to incorporate this instruction - do).

·     Even then, a subscriber MUST enter these details ONLINE in subscription - Form (-even if Sanjeev is sitting in front of the client).

·     This is our only capturing - screen to capture all types of payments.

·     But when cheques/ DD are received & deposited in Recruitguru a/c in saraswat Bank, by Asuthosh, there has to be on OFFLINE/ BACKEND,re - conciliation with what the subscriber has filled up ONLINE in the subscription payment form. Please evolve a mechanism, with help of Asutosh

Remember - Some cheques will

·     Not get couriered

·     Get lost on the way

·     Get rejected due to errors

·     Bounce (funds to available) etc...

·     There must be a mechanism to STOP the services in such cases (-unless we say, we will NOT activate the service in the first place itself unless cheque is realised).

·     May be initially, we need to take such a stand.

   But, in any case RECONCILIATION - MECHANISM is a must because,

·     One part of the process is ONLINE

·     Second part of the process is OFFLINE and human - intervention becomes necessary

I wish to repeat what I have repeatedly said in the past, viz

·     "Despite a fantastic product and a huge waiting market and a fabulous Marketing team and wonderful technical support,

·     A company can - and will - go BUST, if it does not have in place, right from the beginning, an idrotproo BILLING/ ACCOUNTING/ RECOVERY Mechanism.

·     Without aforementioned "Reconciliation" (between ONLINE data & OFFLINE data), when I look up statement # 4 (Subscription Received - cash Flow), I may feel very happy that, right from launch date till today, between all subscribers (i.e. all subscribers put together), I have received ONLINE payments, amounting to Rs. 1 core & 53 Lakhs.

·     Whereas, my Recruitguru Saraswat Bank A/C passbook shows, a cumulative deposit of Rs. 93 Lakhs only!

·     That would be a disaster! Remember - whatever can go wrong - will go wrong! so anticipate & provide for every human

·     So, in Recruitguru ADMIN CONSOLE, I would like you to develop, with help from Asutosh, a

·     "UN - RECONCILED PAYMENT STATEMENT", in which,

I should be able to look up all un - reconciled payment, every day, along with all details, including "Age / Period" for which a particular payment is remaining un - reconciled.

·     This would be quite like an CUSTOMER OUTSTANDING statement, which can be rearrange at will

-    by period / duration for which outstanding (reverse chronological)

                     OR

-    by magnitude of "Amount Outstanding" (In descending order)

Obviously,

·     Rs. 5 lakh outstanding for 5 days,

·     is fare more important than,

·     Rs, 500/= outstanding for 5 years

Now let us get cracking!!
