"Content delivery on
Internet-based applications and through devices which are wireless will also
happen.
Mobile Devices will increase
pumping of news and response-based interactivity. In Europe, some Content
Companies derive Substantial programming revenues from SMS operations.
So far, this has not happened in India. But Competition will change that. Even
as revenue becomes significant, Content-providers will charge from mobile
Service operators.
There is business opportunity in exploiting
Content through all delivery platforms.
Content is going to be an
important part of DTH. But exclusive content will not come from existing
channels. That may drive DTH... Special Interest channels will be launched.
Broadcasters can make products
for people who are more niche than mass.
We will see the beginning of pay-per-view."

"However in the long run, Service
quality and Variety of offerings will play the most important role
in sustaining businesses of operators. These will be the only differentiators
that will help them acquire new customers and retain the existing ones.
The Voice tariff has more or less
stabilized whereas the trend for Value-added services has just started.
SMS traffic is a live example.
The Operators will roll out many new
services in the future, where each operator may like to differentiate
themselves with the rest of them.
It is at Value-added services
that operators would like to pay attention to increase revenue as well
as margins."

as quoted from "Redefining
Indian Telecom Report" (Business Standard | 08-03-2004.)
"We estimate the Subscriber
base to cross 20 Crores (200 million) mark by 2007 and 25 crores (250
million) in the next couple of years. This will make India the second
largest market in the World.
Eventually only three or four
large operators with pan-India operations will remain dominants.
According to us, companies with low
cost and pan India business models with diversified Product
Offerings will be the future winners."

"Earlier, Reliance
Infocomm revolutionised SMS as a messaging medium in the domestic market by
making it affordable and accessible to millions of Indians.
Reliance India Mobile
Subscribers send around 150 million (15 crore) messages every month.
Now Reliance India Mobile is adding another dimension altogether by
offering technology-neutral SMS to International networks, irrespective
