Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

GuruSelect is a tool for preparing a master list of keywords for the positions that are under way at 3P and Strategic HR. This master list is going to be of help for calculating the Match Index for the resumes so that consultants can get a complete list of resumes tabulated in the descending order of Match Index.

The Match Index calculation is basically a method to rank the resumes with respect to the keywords that a consultant has selected and expects to find in the resumes.

Steps for usage of GuruSelect:

  1. After setting up the software navigate to the exe file and open it. Default location will be C:\Program Files\RG\GuruSelect\GuruSelect.exe.

  1. You can also access the file from, Start--> Programs--> RecruitGuru Tools--> GuruSelect

  1. After opening the application, you will find a form as shown below:

  1. Click on the first tab, “MAIN_TOOL”.

  1. This will open a screen as shown below:

  1. In this screen, there is a drop down list which has the names of the Team Leaders.

  1. You have to select the team to which you belong in the drop list and as soon as you do that, you can see a list of designations loaded in the window on the right side upper corner of your form.

  1. You select the designation that you want to work on and click on the button   “GET JOB ADVTS”.

  1. Then you will see the window on the left will be loaded with advts.

10.  In case no advts or wrong advts or such advts which are not of interest to you load in the window,      then you can try typing different combinations of keywords comprising that particular designation        in the textbox below the list of designations and again click on “GET JOB ADVTS”.

11.    There are two text boxes just below the advt.

  1. The left hand box is the total number of advts downloaded and the right hand box is the URL of that job advt.

  1. Below these boxes is a text box which contains the current advt number.

  1. If you wish to go to a specific advt, just type the advt number from 1 to the number displayed in the page number box and click on the button “GOTO PAGE”.
  1. If you get a message saying “Page Error” then it indicates that you have entered a number greater than the total advts loaded.

  1. You can also navigate through the advts by clicking on one of the buttons    “PREVIOUS PAGE” or “NEXT PAGE”.

  1. To select the keywords, all you have to do is to highlight those keywords that you want to add to the master list in the advt, and click on the button “>>>”.

  1. There is one extremely important thing that you must observe while selecting keywords. You have to check at the top of every advt that you work on to confirm that the advt is relevant to the designation that you have selected and only then proceed to highlight keywords.

  1. To add a keyword that is not found in the advts but relevant to the designation, you can manually type it in the text box above the “SAVED KEYWORDS” box and click on the “ ^^ ” button

  1. If, after selecting a keyword you feel that the keyword you just selected should not be there, then you can delete it by clicking it from the window on the right and clicking on “<<<” button.

  1. After you have selected all the keywords from that specific advt, click on the button “SAVE KEYWORDS” to add to the “SAVED KEYWORDS” box.

  1. You will see that all the keywords selected by you appear in the window in the right side lower corner of your form.

  1. If you now wish to delete any keyword, you can do so by clicking on that keyword and clicking on “DELETE” button.

  1. Now, when you go to the next advt for the same designation, the keywords already selected so far are highlighted in Red, Bold and Italics.

  1. When you close this form, all the keywords get saved in the database.

  1. The second tab “CHECK_STATUS” opens a form, as shown below, which shows two tables and a drop down list.

  1. You can select the name of any Team Leader to see which team has been assigned which designations and the status of those designations.

  1. The second table shows a complete list of designations (Roles) that are there in the database, the team that is working on it or has worked on it and the status.

  1. Using these tables, you can see if the designation that you are given an assignment for is already being worked upon or not.

Once you have completed work on the designations assigned to you, go to the folder “C:\Program Files\RG\GuruSelectSetup” and mail the file by the name “JOBADVT-DESIGNATION-KEYWORDS.mdb” which is an Access file containing the keywords that have been saved by you to rahul@recruitguru.com so that we could update the Master List at our end.
