OFFLINE ENTRY OF JOB-ADVT BY
CORPORATES
We have (in v. 1.3.0) already
created an application whereby job-aduts can be entered offline by
vendors and then emailed to us for uploading on our website.
This application & job-adut
forms have been put on a CD, which is handed over to the vendors. I
understand the application & forms, take-up 11 MB of memory.
Now, it is possible to give this
CD to any Corporate for offline entry of their job-aduts & email to us.
Process is no different than when
we give the CD to a vendor.
The difference comes here:
Whereas, we may have 2, 3 or 5
vendors (for offline entry), as far as Companies are concerned, we
may want to give this CD to 5000
Corporates!
This would be a VERY EXPENSIVE
proposition!
And after sending the CD (through
courier), if the Company does not use it or use it immediately, then the whole
effort/cost is wasted!
Ideal solution would be to be
able to email this entire application & webforms to those
Corporates. That would cost nothing - so even if those Companies do not use it,
nothing is lost! If a few hundred start using it, it is a big gain!
But Mustafa tells me, you
cannot email a 11 mb file - just too big! (even after compressing?).
Next solution:
Can a
"willing/desirous" Corporate "download" the entire
"application &
webforms" from our website?
I believe there are several "freewares"/"sharewares" of
similar SIZE which people can - and do - download from hundreds of
websites.
So this seems like a possible
solution.
Q: Why should a Corporate
download entire 11 mb application? Why not a few "kb"
size of "job-adut forms" only?
Ans: A static form cannot
have big drop-down lists of
- Industry (220)
- Functions (110)
- Trades/Vocations (500)
- Desig.
etc. etc.
This is what makes application
huge.
Q: Can we allow Companies
to free-text type "Ind/Function" etc.
And when they email to us, only
filled-in job-aduts, we, at our end, go through & apply the correct
codes, before uploading on website?
Such a feasibility should be
seriously examined - even though, it is a compromise-solution and
involves some human-intervention at our end, before uploading.
Q: If a Company has
internet-connection (to be able to download an 11 mb file) then why
should it not, directly post the job-adut - ONLINE in the first place?
Ans: Once it has posted
just ONE job-adut, it gets a CORPORATE KEY, so that, it does not
have to enter "static" info, again & again.
$\triangleright$ All
factories/branches of a large Company may not have internet connections. We
would send
the email (application &
webform) to Central HQ/Chief of Personnel, with a request to put it on a
CD & forward these CD's to all his factories/regional offices/branch
offices.
These offices can then enter
their respective job-aduts in the "web-forms" & forward
(email?) these web-forms to Central Office for CONSOLIDATION (after
check/review/approval/authorisation) before emailing entire file to 3P.
OR
After filling-in, the
branches/regions/factories may take-out printouts (hard-copies) and snail-mail
to HQ, who, in turn, forward to us. Ultimately, these job-adut forms may start
circulating amongst other functional-managers also (production/materials/Sales/Marketing/Finance).
Our long-term goal is to make 3P
job-adut. FORMS, to become, de facto
INDUSTRY STANDARD.
To become this, the FORMS, need
to be circulated WIDELY!
