Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

With regards,

ADDITIONAL POINTS ( I )

“FRESH GRADUATES” feature
27/07/2011
Additional points (1)

► In my “concept note”, I mentioned that ALL 40 lakh fresh graduate “records” become available under “Resume Search” from DAY ONE itself (i.e. as soon as a record gets uploaded into database.

As a corollary, when a recruiter selects / clicks on any PEN in the search results, that “record”

► becomes “visible”
► becomes “downloadable”

You would have noticed that I am using the word “record” instead of “resume”.

Because, what we have received is a string of 25 “fields” for each candidate.

Even though it is a “record” and not a “resume”, we must ensure that, when it is “viewed” by an employer, its “cosmetic presentation” / display is EXCELLENT.

It must look like a well-designed / well-arranged RESUME – and not a “record”.
This is very important issue.

Matching Resumes when a job gets posted

You can call a “Job Posting” action, as some kind of PASSIVE “Resume Search” action.

Post Job
A recruiter posts a job and expects that jobseekers (interested/suitable) will “discover” that job during “job search” and apply – even as the recruiter is passively (lazy?) waiting!

Resume Search
Recruiter has no time. He is in a hurry. He cannot wait for some jobseekers to discover his “posted job”.

So he actively conducts a resume-search, to, himself discover, matching/suitable resumes.

This is the reason why “CRITERIA / FIELDS” in both,
➤ Job Post
➤ Resume Search
are nearly identical!

So, about 2 years ago when we launched CustomizeResume, we decided that as soon as a recruiter posts a job, we will immediately show below, a set of “Matching Resumes” fetched from our resume database.
May be around that time, other jobsites

also introduced this feature.
A “Job Post” was equated with “Resume Search”.

A software was written and this was even implemented.

But, within a few weeks, we had to withdraw this feature!

Simple reason.

We had just VERY FEW resumes for matching!

As a result, every time a recruiter posted a job advt, a message flashed,

“Sorry! No matching resumes found.”

This was very embarrassing!

So we discontinued it.

But now, in case of “FRESH GRADUATES” (only) we can re-introduce this concept.

This is because, as soon as a fresh grad. “record” gets uploaded, it becomes instantly searchable in “Resume Search”. No matter what job gets posted, we will always have plenty of matching fresh grad. resumes to display & amaze the recruiter!
