URGENT (BUT NOT IMPORTANT)

Shakaka
27/02/10

PP, discuss amongst yourselves and then distribute the following projects, in order of priorities:

  1. Revised template for Resume (shakaka)

  2. Fetch online job-description (Alex)

  3. Magic Cube Job-Search

  4. Magic Cube Resume Search

  5. Recommendation System for Jobseekers

    • Level 1 → Rearranging Jobsearch dropdown lists for Search parameters

    • Level 2 → Immediate display/listing of matching job-adverts, as soon as each stage of “Jobseeker Registration” gets completed

    • Level 3 → Daily emailing links to newly arrived "matching job-adverts".
Clicking on link will bring that jobseeker to his “MY PAGE”, where jobs will be listed in tabulation from where he can view/apply online.

  6. Recommendation System for Recruiters

    • Same level 1/2/3 as in case of jobseekers

  7. Long Tail Jobs

  8. Long Tail Resumes

    • Based on incorporating Google Search Appliance on our web server.

    • “Long Tail Jobs” will work upon old database of 34 lakh job-adverts (wherever email IDs of job-advertisers are available).

    • Primarily, this feature is meant to enable Search Engine Spiders to be able to index every keyword of all 34 lakh adverts.

    • Will all these pages have a single URL? That would be desirable.

  9. Incorporating Google Search Appliance

    • In our existing conventional Job-search page to enable “keyword-based” jobsearch

LONG TAIL JOBS

Shalaka,

Enclosed see tentative U/I. May be you can simplify
The main purpose is to have ONE page (one URL) on our website where Search Engine spiders can keep clicking links to index 40/50 million "keywords". Since keyword/ "Jobs/ Job Advts" will get listed a few million times on a single page.(Single URL), I expect that when anyone types "Jobs/ Job Advts" in the search bars of Google / Yahoo/ Bing etc. our SINGLE PAGE would top the list !!That would increase our traffic fantastically.
However, implementing this feature would require installation of Google Search Appliances API on our server IT may also require cleaning up of a lot of JUNK keyword's before uploading.
Therefore, it may be best to first tryout this feature extensively OFFLINE and upload only when satisfied.
To save one column in U/I, we can provide "APPLY ONLINE" button on each job - advt only - when click opened.
When "Current Jobs" get deleted (after 60 days) from "Conventional Job search," we should keep adding these to LONG TAIL.
And since Google Search Appliances API is supposed to work similarly to ISYS (-and perhaps better), next question is :-
Q. In our existing ISYS database, we already have a few lakh resumes which our consultants search using
"Keywords" typed into ISYS search bar. Search results are a listing of documents (resumes) containing those keywords. These resumes are then clicked & opened, one by one, for reading.
All this happens OFFLINE. We have been using ISYS for nearly 15 years.
How about creating a parralel - and identical database of these resumes and let Google Search Appliance, index keywords and find the relevant resumes?
Kind of "LONG TAIL/ RESUMES (OFFLINES)
Then let our consultant’s comeback and tell us which application (ISYS US. GSA) Works better/ faster.

Dear Sir/Madam

 Sub-line: Closing down of IndiaRecruiter.net

Sometime back I wrote to you that we plan to close down WWW.IndiaRecruiter.net

With the launch of www.CustomizeResume.com a few days back, we are now ready for that.

On CustomizeResume.com, We have yet to launch the “Employer Section” which we plan to do in the next few days. As soon as we do, I will inform you.

In the meantime, do visit to get an idea of how a “Customized Resume” would greatly help you to decide =

“Shall I call this candidate for an interview?”

It is quite possible that after seeing a “Customized Resume”, you may never again want to read a plain text resume !

TIMES REVIEW

Sunday Times of India, Mumbai
December 6, 2009

(Handwritten note at top: “Rahul + Shalaka + Ketan + Alex”)

Jackson in a new avatar

The ‘king of pop’ has never really gone away. Michael Jackson’s sixth album, This Is It, which is based on his concerts and released last month, has topped the charts in several countries.

Fans have something new to look forward to. The late singer’s avatar has been unveiled on the Japanese social networking site Mixi, where he has been resurrected as a virtual character.

Said Michael was responsible for some of Sony’s most successful releases. His latest incarnation is on a social game where users can dress him up and make him dance.

Now what’s most startling is that Sega and Sony are working hand in hand to bring him back as a virtual star. His likeness will be used in a new video game that is expected to be launched early next year.

Industry experts say this is just one example of how technology is helping keep icons alive long after they’re gone.

Facebook and regional networks

Social networking giant Facebook has over 500 million users today. Most users belong to its core audience — the young.

But several regional networks are now trying to break into this space by focusing on local languages and cultures. Orkut, which was earlier strong in India, has seen a decline as Facebook surged ahead.

According to some networking experts, this may not be just a matter of user preference. Networks that focus on local languages have the advantage of being more relatable to users who are not fluent in English.

Sites like BharatStudent and others have seen growth in tier-II and tier-III cities. These platforms are trying to tap into communities that are often ignored by global networks.

Opera does one better

The Norwegian company has added a server to the latest version of its browser
By Nikhil Dey

When browsers were first invented, they were simply tools that helped users navigate the web. Over the years, browsers have evolved into complex software platforms offering everything from email clients to developer tools.

Opera Software has now taken the next step. The company has added a server to the latest version of its browser. This means users can host websites directly from their computers.

It lets you specify which files on your computer you want to share with others. Anyone who knows the link can access the files, regardless of where they are.

Now, all that remains to be done is make sure your internet connection can handle the load. The URL and disk space are limited.

Experts say this move is a bold attempt to redefine what a browser can do. However, concerns remain about security and bandwidth usage.

Still, the feature could prove useful for developers and small businesses looking for a quick way to host content without investing in expensive infrastructure.
