Hi Friends,

Even as I launch this today ( my 80th Birthday ), I realize that there is yet so much to say and do. There is just no time to look back, no time to wonder,"Will anyone read these pages?"

HARVESTER GURUGEM HEADHUNTER'S PARADISE

Harvester → GuruGem → Headhunter’s Paradise

Last week I spoke to Shalaka about developing an ONLINE search application,
which would solve headhunters' major problem viz:

Where and how to find “LEADS” for contacting potential candidates for filling up
a specific “search assignment” for a client?

When any search assignment is given to any headhunter, client specifies many criteria.

Two important criteria are:
► Function
► Designation
} of position to be filled

Again, client company itself belongs to a particular “Industry”. Therefore, client would prefer candidates currently working for its
COMPETITOR-COMPANIES. (our Archival search).

So, we can add one more criteria, viz:
► Industry (Industry-Name).

So, for a headhunter, main selection/search criteria become:

Select Any One from each:
[ Industry ▼ ]   [ Function ▼ ]   [ Designation ▼ ]
                         [ Submit ]

We can insert these into the
“Advanced Search bar” of Google,
Find webpages that have all these words: [______________________]

By default, we should search for results in
⊚ India Pages

In case of:
Industry = Automotive
Function = Sales
Designation = “Vice President”
Pages = India Pages

Google returned
20,200 results

Even if only 25% of the results are genuine enough to qualify as “Leads,” that would make for
≈ 5000 executive names!

I suspect that no. is bigger than the combined database (of resumes of such executives) on Naukri / Timesjobs / Monster!!

Now remember,
You will hardly find “actual resumes” of such senior executives on any jobsite. I have a feeling that headhunters would even ignore such a resume!

Headhunters are only looking for “Leads” (to such senior executives) – which can be researched & tracked down & “wooed” into giving their resume.

So, Google produced 20,200 leads!

Even the most conscientious headhunter does not have time to go through so many leads.

Then, a headhunter would want to take a look at search-results, only if all the verbose “garbage” is removed and the results are presented as shown in ANNEX: A

We can truncate the tabulation, even if ONE column data is missing.

From each search result, it is not difficult to pick up
Designation
Function
Being “search-criteria,” these will almost always be found inside each search-result.

How to find “Company Name”?
How to find “Executive Name”?

I believe, I have provided some logic in my earlier notes (especially “Harvester” folder).
There is one more note as well, to figure out a “candidate name” from the “probability of occurrence” within a given sentence – at a particular “position” in that sentence.

Of course “Company Name” can be found by “comparing” with our online database of (industry-wise) company names in Resume Blast.

We have also “parsed” company names in 2.98 lakh job-advt database, created for JAM / WWJ. That would cover 99% of companies.

We will allow only “Registered Corporates” to use this.
That would automatically grow our “Company Name Database.”
