I enclose herewith some notes on this subject, comprising

  • Job Market Research.
  • The Expert System.

You must have also received my earlier handwritten notes.

I also enclose copy of proposal received from DIGITRON.

Let us discuss these at the earliest. I am VERY ANXIOUS to install/implement this august system during the month of August!

Methodology:

This will be carried out on DIGITRON-type of imaging-system.

Advt. will be placed on a Scanner and will appear on the left-half of monitor-screen.

Right half of the screen will have a blank format with distinct blocks as shown. The HHSP system will have the capability to transfer - in a selective manner - what appears in Advt. copy on the right, images to the left-side of the screen.

This should be done with help of a mouse or a Cursor.

Everything on the left-side of the screen shall be coded and permit selective retrieval.

HOW WILL THE SYSTEM HELP

Examples:

  1. Company-wise analysis of
    • posts advertised
    • expenses incurred

A letter campaign will tell the Company - they need not advertise / spend so much money - how many persons (of that kind) we have in Databank - If they still wish to advertise, they can become member of 3P club & reap the benefits.

  1. Industry-wise analysis will tell us which are "Sun-Rise" industries (the one with most-frequency of Advt).

Within a given industry, which Co. Advts most? Is it an indicator that it is expanding at above-average rate? or losing people very fast?

What NEW industries are entering job-market? e.g.

$$\begin{array}{l} \text{Private Sector Banks} \\ \text{Mutual Funds} \\ \text{Air Taxi Operators} \\ \text{Corporate Investors (overseas)} \\ \text{Oil Exploration (Pvt. Sector)} \\ \text{etc. etc.} \end{array}$$

In which geographical locations are jobs being generated?

(3) In drafting Advt. for other Client-Co's in Same Industrial Sector.

One by one, we can recall all Advts stored, for e.g.

  • Given function (e.g. Maintenance)
  • Position/Designation (e.g. Manager, )
  • Industry (e.g. Domestic Appliances)

and use the info to draft a new Advt. We should be able to print a hard copy of either the left screen or the Right screen at will.

(4) Offering our Databank Candidates against a specific Advt:

This would be a standard-letter.

As soon as Left Hand Screen is completed and EXIT command is given, HHSP Exec. Search Module will get automatically activated (treating left-hand screen as an Executive Search Request) and prepare/print a short-list (of persons meeting weightage of 60 or above) and print-out a STANDARD-LETTER to the advertiser, enclosing (print-out) short-list.

With FAX NO. retrieved from MASTER, the STANDARD-LETTER should get faxed by same afternoon!

In years to come, our KEY SUCCESS FACTORS are going to be

  • A VERY VERY LARGE DATABASE
  • A VERY FAST RESPONSE (to any stimulus in the environment - Advt. being one such stimulus. The other stimulus could be New projects Infor. picked-up from magazines like Investment Week etc.)
  • An INTEGRATED HHSP System where all modules are interlinked and are transaction-driven i.e. updating is Simultaneous.

    • Accounting Module (Invoicing/outstanding etc.)

As long as we continue to KEY-IN data/info. requests into Computer Manually, we just cannot become the NO. 1 PLACEMENT AGENT OF THE WORLD! - even if we employ an army of Data-Entry operators.

We must move towards

  • OCR/Imaging
  • Voice Recognition
  • Expert (Match-making)-Systems Software

We must plough back all our earnings into the latest information-technologies. We must move towards Paperless office. This must be our COMPETETIVE ADVANTAGE over other placement agencies - our competitors. We must remain at the cutting-edge!

As Jack Welch redefined General Electric (during 1980-1995),

"If we cannot be NO. 1 & NO. 2 world-wide in any given business, we must get out of it".

This should also be our, 3P's BUSINESS-GOAL.
