I refer to our yesterday's discussions.
Biggest problem seems to be the FILE SIZE, even if we breakup 8 lakh resumes into 800 files of 1000 resumes each (~100 MB each),
our server cannot handle such large downloads — especially if several users try to download “packets” simultaneously.
Maybe solution lies in uploading 8 lakh resumes (~80 GB) onto some “file sharing/file transfer websites.”
There, we can create 40 files of 2 GB each, to cover all 8 lakh.
Then obtain 40 links (one for each file)
Then email these 40 links to 100,000 corporates.
When they click on any link, they get to download 20,000 resumes!
With 40 links in their email, they can continue downloading at their convenience/leisure — without loading OUR server!
Having downloaded 8 lakh resumes, hopefully they will also use Resume Rater.

We have to enter email IDs of the intended “recipients” in an online form.
Then “YouSendIt” will notify those recipients to come & download.
→ Does not look very practical!
I believe this website has a provision where,
after uploading our files (any no.) — up to 1.5 GB = 15,000 resumes of 100 KB each —
we can inform intended “recipients” (100,000 corporates?) by email,
directly from our end, thru PROMO email.
Maybe we can provide such a ‘link’ on our “Start Your Own Business” page.
“SendSpace Lite” is free (300 MB), but
good enough for QUICK experiment to establish that this service works!

Whereas,

This is worth looking up. It says,
“Files packaged with Pando can also be made available for download on any site or blog.”
There are several hundred small job sites (Indian).
They don’t have large Resume Databases – so no one visits them.
If they can write on their “RESUME SEARCH” page:
“Free Download of 800,000 resumes from here”
Then, they may be quite willing to provide, on one of their webpages, a link to IndiaRecruiter.
Our own pagerank will go up if we get a few hundred INCOMING links!
