Job Aggregator
-
The purpose of developing such a feature is explained on the enclosed U/I.
-
Of course, there are already existing aggregator sites (like Bixee.com, which are pulling and displaying job-adverts (as per criteria typed in keyword box), from:
• Clickjobs
• Jobassist
• Jobconsultancy
• learn4good
• GigaJob
• cv-library.co.uk
• firstsalary
• freeplacementcell
• koolkampus
• Monster
• fundoodatajobs
• hirefire.co.in
• Jobrecruit
• jobs3.netmedia1
• Vacanciesforyou
• jobs.guardian.co.uk
• CareerAge
• Jobsviewer
• RainMaker.co.in
• JobSearchAll
• careers-jobs.eu
• iitfjobs
• freshersworld
• etc. etc.
(Most – approx 70% ads from MonsterIndia)
But, Bixee’s limitations (from jobseeker’s viewpoint) are as follows:
(1) Bixee only lists “links” (10/page × 10 pages), clicking on which takes you to the concerned job-advt page on concerned jobsite (from which “pulled/displayed”).
(2) Quite often, Bixee’s link-clicking (especially on MonsterIndia links), shows a Monster page, which reads:
“Sorry, this job does not exist” or “This job has expired, search for more jobs below.”
(Very frustrating, indeed)
(3) To be able to “Apply Online”, jobseeker should have earlier deposited his resume on the concerned website.
In case of Monster, if you click the link [Apply Online] on any job-advt, it takes you to a page where you have to login (obviously). Alternatively, you have to:
[Register]
[Submit Resume]
Hence, a jobseeker still has to:
▷ submit his resume separately – and in advance – on all those jobsites
▷ & remember all those passwords & edit (when reqd) at all those sites
▷ & click “Apply Online”, again & again, at each of those sites!
A jobseeker MUST return to the original Bixee search-result page again & again, to be able to click on the next link, to go to the next jobsite!
So, a jobseeker’s major pain-points are not getting addressed by Bixee!
It is the same story with
www.Indeed.com
(which claims to aggregate job-advt links from as many as 80 jobsites)
Of course, both Indeed & Bixee have a simple/elegant / one box: search interface, which is very impressive.
-
Now, if we come up with some similar feature, which:
• just barely matches the functionality of Indeed / Bixee
• just manages to pull job-adverts from 8/10 jobsites
then, we are DOOMED, from the beginning!
On the other hand,
– even if we are able to pull job-adverts from 4/5 jobsites,
but, we manage to
– display these as shown in U/I
(examine the possibility of being able to click on Employer column, to be able to view the full advt)
– enable jobseeker to select ☑ any no. of these; then click “Apply Online”
– deliver jobseeker’s Profiles (or a link to his online profile, as in case of Resume Blast – along with a message) to those job-advertisers
then
– We could be holding a TRUMP CARD!
This ULTRA-FAST method of “Applying-Online”, simultaneously to several dozens of job-advertisers, could become popular amongst jobseekers.
And it will get us Resumes which we need!
In the “Select Jobsite” column, I have listed those jobsites which
– have a “Keyword Box” on their job-search pages
– normally/mostly provide email IDs of the job-advertisers in their job-adverts.
Q:
How can we “extract” those various fields from each job-advt and then tabulate as shown?
Ans:
We have done this in WorldWide-Jobs,
where, we used to, daily:
→ Spider last 24 hours job-adverts from 2/3 jobsites (maybe only Naukri)
→ Extract those fields
→ Tabulate as shown
→ Email to Newspapers (JAs) who subscribed to “FREE CONTENT”
[see →
To nearly 31 newspapers, we were sending JAs emails daily for several months, before we stopped SPIDERING Naukri website.
As far as Job Aggregator is concerned, we don’t even have to spider!
We have to:
▷ Insert the keyword/s (typed by the jobseeker) into the KEYWORD BOX of the selected jobsite
▷ Get the results (job-adverts)
▷ Extract fields & Tabulate as shown
⬅️ Our existing / available s/w code (for JAs) may need modification – but the logic should work.
As we discussed this morning, Monster, TimesJobs, Jobstreet, JobsAhead, do NOT show EMAIL ID in job-advt.
But our extraction s/w will extract "Employer / Advertiser" Name.
We already have some 14,770 corporate names – with their email IDs – we MAY be able to search/locate email ID of most ANY job-advertiser of these websites and insert it!
If we are able to do this, we can add MonsterIndia / Timesjobs / JobsAhead / Jobstreet to our “select Jobsite” droplist! Then, we can even afford to ignore the rest!
Of course, Naukri will be at the TOP.
You may ask,
“Why have a column for email ID? Why display email ID, since it is unclickable?”
I think, showing email ID lends credibility to Job Aggregator.
Jobseeker will feel reassured / confident that his resume will get delivered! He does not think that we are pulling a fast one!
Coming to think of it, why not make email IDs CLICKABLE?
In any case, when a job-advertiser has put his email ID in PUBLIC DOMAIN,
he expects to receive emails on that ID.
Making email IDs CLICKABLE will raise our credibility many fold.
And we lose nothing! But gain a lot!!
Let’s do it.
Let us also incorporate into Job Aggregator,
the FEEDBACK feature of Resume Blast – exactly the same way:
▷ Advertiser gets a link
▷ " clicks link to come to the
webpage containing candidate’s resume
▷ Advertiser clicks on one of the feedback links (before he can download resume)
▷ We deliver FEEDBACK MESSAGE to job-applicants as emails.
Once again, incorporation of this FEEDBACK feature will not only make a HR mgr’s life easy, it will raise jobseekers’ confidence in Job Aggregator enormously.
It will DIFFERENTIATE our website and make it unique.
Please examine, how soon can we develop & host Job Aggregator.
