PERSPECTIVE

Newspaper Article Title: The silliness of online dating

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • I presume our "Match Rate" is much better, but we have yet to compile statistics. (Which we will do, when we are free from more URGENT development)
  • Our "Apply Online" rate is close to 0.8 percent reported by "airintroductions. com"
  • But our rate must improve over time, considering that for every 1 air-traveller there are, I may be 100 jobseekers! I hope to get them to register on WWJ, when they read JAS! This is why, it is important to get JAS published in 100 newspapers.

Newspaper Article Title: Byrd bites the dust, H-1B Desis can rejoice as Ireland hunts for skilled pros

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • Ireland is an English-speaking country.
  • Jobs being posted on Irish jobsites will be in English.
  • So, it should not be too difficult to download such jobs & match & send JAM to Indian jobseekers.
  • On WWJ, we will soon need a page, where such newspaper articles can be reproduced. Articles which say, XYZ countries have need for ABC type of personnel & look to India to fill those jobs.

Newspaper Article Title: 30M MOBILES IN LOW PRICE RANGE TO RING IN BY '06 / Pocket Pick: Sub-Rs 2K cells set to flood market

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • In 6 months we should be able to buy Cell-phones @ Rs. 1500/=
  • In 6 months we should have Global Recruiter / India Recruiter working smoothly with 5 lakh resumes & 50000 job-adults.
  • In 6 months, we should have RAM working smoothly on Airtel (Mumbai) - for Mumbai-based HR mgrs.
  • So, in April 2006, we could call a demo-dinner party of 40/50 HR managers and gift to each of them, a Rs. 1500 handset with Airtel POST-PAID subscription and give on-the-spot demo of RAM. We could recover the cost of handset, if each HR mgr. downloads 500 resumes! - may be just 3/4 job-adults!

Newspaper Article Title: Now 'possible' is voice e-mail / Sovereign Infosys above

Handwritten Notes (Abhi):

  • Sending Voice-messages as email will require at both ends - Sound card - Speakers / - Mike
  • So, this technological development may not have immediate implications (positive or negative) to WWJ/GR/JAM/ RAM etc - but then who knows, how future will unfold!
  • But newer technologies have a habit of making "business-models" redundant. So, we must, for ever, remain on look-out for employing new technologies ourselves FIRST, so as to "obsolete" our competitors.
